Recently bought 5 bags of this from the El Cajon store. Used it the next day and found that four of the five bags had portions of the cement that was already rock solid and not usable. This store has the cement outside and I don't know if this is why this happened. The portions I was able to use worked as advertised. I will either get it from another store where it is stored inside, and make sure is it all loose, or pick another product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brian Works well but always mix prior to pouring
Never pour in dry and add water afterwards, always a possibility it will not penetrate all material and set
properly, buy a spade and cement tub for a few dollars and mix the cement before pouring and do not
wait to long, it starts to harden fast. Again, make sure to mix before use, directions say you can pour in
dry and add water but save yourself a possible headache and mix prior before use. Otherwise
product works fine

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dingo Lars recommended the higher priced item because it would dry quickly and since we are installing posts..
Sakrete is a good product and my salesman recommended a faster drying product.

I have used this product several times in the past. After adding water take a piece of rebar or a sturdy stick and push down into the wet mix, moving it around a little. this helps the water reach all parts of the mix. Not a full stir, just a wiggle or two.

My Jack Russell dug a large hole in front of my chain link gate. it took the hole bag to fill it up. I used hot water since the temperature was 41. It set up in 30 minutes. Just like any other thing I get from Home Depot it was a great product. exceeded my expectations. Definitely will buy more when needed.

The concrete mixes are made with rock that has been dug up out of the ocean and its not washed like they claim and the salt breaks down the integrity of the concrete over time and it gets brittle and will loose its strength.

I purchased this product after my stockade fence fell during a storm. The previous owner of my property set the poles in sand so of course that didn't withstand much wind. I didn't want this to be a major project spanning multiple days so I jumped at the possibility of quick set no mix concrete. The day I used this product it was 34 degrees outside so I did as directed and added hot water in the quantity indicated. After putting tools away ,I took a shower and changed clothes. In that amount of time (approx 45 mins) it had set solid .. I'm very happy with this product for the use described, note however that the finish was rocky since there was no need to smooth it for a finished look since I covered it with dirt after photo but for setting poles the red bag product works great.

I buy this all the time for setting poles, and for whatever else I need to set fast. Here is a tip. We (almost) always mix it, but that's just the way we always have done it... We pour in some water to 1/2 of the hole depth, pour in dry cement from one 50# bag. Then we mix it with a tire tool or large pry bar or stick. We add water if needed.
Now in most cases, this will be MORE THAN PLENTY to set the pole in about 15 minutes. So on top of the quick-setting mix out of the red bag, we CHEAP OUT and add in some regular Sackrete to finish the hole. We often will mix 25# of the red bag mix in the bottom, and 40# to 80# of the regular mix, which is about a bag and a half per hole. You can mix directly in the hole with the standard Sackrete, just pour and stir. This is a few bucks cheaper, and pretty effective. The bottom 12 inches of the poles are rock hard in 15 minutes, and the top can be neatly troweled after an hour or so. no more stupid braces on every pole!
Works great for fencing. You actually can tweak the poles a little bit while the red bag is curing and before the regular concrete is placed, but you better be fast with a plumb stick and pinch bar. You can't tweak much once the entire hole is full.
Also, this can be mixed with just about any other concrete product to make it cure faster. Use a little of this to accelerate concrete in the winter.
