Reading reviews of others' problems with this product, I wanted to go with GAF. Unfortunately it was not available and I had a time constraint and couldn't wait; I got the Rmax. Don't use a razor, you'll make a mess, doesn't cut well at all with razor. Can't score and snap either. Looked for alternatives; hand saw didn't work (some have said a circular saw worked - didn't try it), sharpened putty knife etc. didn't work.
Nothing worked well till I tried a 9" serrated kitchen knife. Works like a charm! Clean cuts, very little mess Also, Rmax must have listened to quality complaints because I had no voids. They were square with consistent thickness. R value of 3.2 for 1/2", not bad at all.
This also works well laid in front of a window. I helped cut down the heat till I could put window treatments back up.
This product worked well for me, easy to work with, stayed flat, quality was good.
Product is made in U.S.A. so shouldn't have to worry about toxic foreign products.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RJ0369 Garage Door insulation
I used this product as a garage door insulation. Installed it on each door panel cut to fit with the foil side facing outward. Must install it on some type of standoff, I used 1 inch pink foam board strips I cut and glued to the door panels, then put this over them leaving an air gap between the foil side of the R-Max panel and the door panel. What a huge difference this makes in the temps inside the garage. My garage door faces south-southeast so it gets very hot and makes the garage hot too. Not anymore. Great product and easy to work with. I added a bubble radiant barrier to the inside as well to keep heat in in the winter too.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JAD1 Great for unconventional Use
I used this insulating board as a lightweight frame for a cornice as a DIY project. A cornice is a sturdy valence type top for drapery. I simply wrapped fabric around the board and mounted to the wall.
The board was lightweight and easy to use. I used standard everyday pins to hold the board and edges together with glue as well.
Using this board as opposed to wood saved me significant money and time. Best of all, required no special tools.

I bought this product to use in my garage. It's made with expanded foam pellets and when you cut the
sheet the pellets come apart and you can't make a straight cut, they break apart and you can't get a nice edge. Also, the pellets that fall, cling to everything, it makes for a messy clean up. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT !!!!!!!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ravi Stuff is easy to work with
I purchased this insulation to put behind paneling in an attempt to sound proof my office in my shop, so I sandwiched it in between paneling and shelving and it seems to work just fine. Easy to cut, and not as big of a mess as some of the comments said. Cannot use it as a wall though because the screws just fall right through it, but makes for excellent "sandwich" material. Definitely worth it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Phparker10 We used this on an addition. WIthout windows, or even all the metal around the addition, we notice at least a 10 degree temperature difference between inside and outside. This is with no door in place and outside air coming in through that opening. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs come winter - but with 90+ temps lately - it's nice to walk into that space and work.
It was a breeze to install and truly makes a difference. Would recommend to anyone - any extra R value helps in this economy!
