Customer Reviews

White Level Mounting Bracket Kit - 2 Pairs Original Rail is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from New design not quite equal to original After 12 years of use, a top rail bracket on my RDI "Endurance" vinyl railing broke sometime over the winter. When spring came around, I disassembled it to see what needed to be replaced and took the broken bracket to a local dealer. I was dismayed to find the original rail bracket had been redesigned and they didn't have any of the old ones. They didn't have a new one to show me either, or I would have been onto a solution at that point. Same result at another dealer. I was contemplating cutting a corner mount to make a new top rail mount, but didn't get around to it. Finally, with the prospect of some visitors coming soon, and my wife's concerns about the look of the roped up repair I made to keep the rail attached, and (somewhat for safety), I called the company. The person on the line had no idea what I was asking for (why was she assigned to customer support?), but did point me to where I could find a brochure online. When I saw the picture of the new design, I thought I could make it work and went looking to purchase one. I found that I could buy a 'kit' that had two top brackets and two bottom brackets online from After my order was lost within 24 hours of it being received, I was told to order a second one and when I came in to pick it up, they would provide it for free for the trouble to two trips and the extra delay. So I brought the second one home and as I started to put it back together, I discovered that the hole in the new design in was a tad too small for the original 3" steel bar that runs through the bracket and the aluminum channel to unite the rail and bracket into a solid unit. Fortunately, I had a piece of aluminum that fit the smaller hole and was able to cut it to length. ( I just double checked and I did not overlook a new locking bar in the hardware that came with the mounting kit.) Overall, the new design is cleaner looking and not really noticeably different from the original design without close inspection. However, I think my lesson here is to be careful in selecting a product like vinyl railing that may not be repairable in a the fairly near future. I was getting desperate for a solution and was dreading the answer that I would have to replace all the railing since I couldn't find a bracket to repair on hand rail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brackets - needed for cut rail sections Purchased 10 foot rail sections and had to cut one in 4 and 5 foot sections. Thus, the extra brackets were required to secure the rails. I was already familiar with the brackets from the rail kits so it was just extra parts for me.
