Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tom Newly applied. Durability unknown but drips like no other stain I've ever used.
I chose Ready Seal primarily due to it being available from Home Depot, it's reviews, and the fact that it could be applied in direct sunlight. The manufacturer says to apply two light coats. Maybe it's just me but I don't know what a "light coat" of stain is. The wood is either 'wet' with stain or it's not. Well, my deck is two levels (walk-out basement) and I started with the top level. Hours after finishing that top level I was still in a 'drip control' mode. I've never seen stain that is so drip prone. What a hassle. But I really like the rich, deep color of the mahogany color. For fences and single level decks with nothing to worry about underneath them, no problemo. But just be prepared to manage the drips if you have an elevated deck.

To make your fence look mahogany you have to put 2 coats on within a few months it's already faded

I did a lot of research before selecting this stain. I was putting it on two year old cedar Pergola. I wanted a deeper color other that cedar and boy did this deliver. The quality of stain is great. Really brought out the rich color of the wood, while having a unique oil quality and ease of putting on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by knagl Fantastic product, great color, "goof proof" as advertised
This is the second time we've used this stain on our deck. The first time it was applied by a professional company, and I was fortunate enough to take note of the brand and color of stain they used. When our deck was due to be stained again, we did it ourselves.
The manufacturer advertises that their Ready Seal stains are "Goof Proof" -- no laps, runs, or streaks. They're right. I've never stained a deck before in my life, but I couldn't do wrong with this stuff. After having the deck pressure washed (I didn't realize how dirty it was until it was washed!) and letting it dry for a couple of days, we applied the mahogany Ready Seal with a brush to cut-in the edges around the outside of the deck, and then used a small foam roller with a disposable paint liner full of stain to do the majority of the work. It went very quickly, and even if we had to re-roll part of a board because there wasn't enough stain on the roller or whatever, it all applied very evenly -- no streaks or runs. The manufacturer's website shows that it can be applied with a sprayer, which is an alternate way to do it I suppose. We were really happy with our brushing and rolling, which went very quickly.
A day after we applied the first coat, it rained (darn it). The directions recommend applying a second coat at least 45 minutes after the first, which we did not initially do. After allowing a few days for the deck to dry again, we did apply a second coat, and wow did the second coat make the color pop! It did take a couple of days for our second coat (which we applied pretty liberally) to dry, possibly because we had waited too long after the first coat, but now that it has had time to be absorbed into the wood, man does it look good!
Another great feature of this product is that it requires no stripping or sanding when it's time to stain again -- just pressure wash, let dry, and apply again. Also, it's oil based, so it doesn't crack or peel -- the color will just eventually wear off over time. At our home in Minnesota (which gets plenty of snow that sits on the deck over the winter), we had the deck stained three years ago, and it was about the right time to re-do it this year. However, I think they only did a single coat of stain the first time around, so I fully expect this go-round to last at least three years, if not longer.
Our deck is 10'x10' (100 square feet total, plus a couple of posts and fascia board). We did one coat of stain on the posts and fascia, and two coats on the deck planks, and still had about a quarter of a gallon of stain left in the one-gallon can.
As I mentioned, this is the second time we've used this exact stain on the deck. It looks great, it gets compliments by everyone who sees it, and it's super easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Was very easy to apply. Truly goof proof. I used the mahogany. If it dries on siding, a Magic Eraser will take it off. The only thing I dont like it is that it does leave an oily residue on our shoes that tracks in on my hardwood inside the house.

I've used this stain on my deck, now on a fence. Besides the look, which brings out the natural beauty and grain of the wood, what I love about this product is that it's very easy to reapply. There's no scraping or power washing off a previous coat of ReadySeal. If it hasn't been too long between applications to where the wood is greying and mildewing, a mild detergent wash prepares it for reapplication. Otherwise, a bleach and water mixture is all that's necessary. Another thing I like is they only offer seven colors--so I can count on being able to buy the same stain color later when I need it! Home Depot's price is cheaper than buying it from the manufacturer's website direct.
