The Rescue 50 Gal. Flat Back Whiskey Rain Water Urn features an integrated planter and an easy-to-install, patented downspout diverter kit which fits 2 in. x 3 in. standard or 3 in. x 4 in. high capacity downspouts. The downspout diverter will automatically keep your rain barrel full when rain has fallen and bypass the rain barrel when full preventing overfilling and overflowing which can cause flooding. This rain barrel kit collects rainwater to be both environmentally-friendly and money-saving by helping reduce your dependence on municipal or well water. In addition, your plants will thrive using pure, soft rain water instead of the processed water from your tap which can contain elements harmful to your plants. An added feature about the diverter system is that it does not have to be removed during the winter season. The diverter and rain barrel can be by-passed so that water flows through the downspout as usual, keeping water from getting into the rain barrel and freezing. The integrated planter can be planted directly into or a pre-arranged floral basket can be used to adorn the top of the rain barrel. The planter area includes a weep hole, allowing excess water to drain out preventing plant stress or death due to over-watering and root rot.

  • Environmentally-friendly decorative rain barrel collects rain from your downspout to reduce your need for municipal or well water, helping you save money

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, easy to install, functions just as it should. I have been shopping for and comparing rain barrels for over a year, so I was excited to finally make a purchase and get started with installation. If you can use a level and a drill and cut a downspout, you can install this rain barrel. We purchased two, and needed to place both of them on bare ground. We leveled the soil surface (the most time consuming part of the whole process), and then created a base with four concrete step stones. Installation would be REALLY quick on a surface that didn't need preparation, such as a patio. I am a big fan of the flat back design. It allows you to get maximum water capacity without an oversized footprint, and I just think it blends in with the house exterior better. The integrated planter offers another opportunity to make the barrel blend in with its surroundings. If I lived in the Southwest, I would definitely plant it with a cactus garden. Since I live in the woods, I opted to dig up some ferns and other native plants, and I'm very pleased with the results. The planting area is greater on this unit than it is on some of the other models I looked at because the downspout doesn't come straight down into the top of the barrel. I like the fact that it came with a short hose and a valve, rather than having a spigot at the base. Spigots do look nice, but they're not very practical when they're that low to the ground. I would prefer a brown diverter rather than a white one, but I suppose most people do have white downspouts, and it's simple to fix with a little spray paint. We got some rain the night after we installed the rain barrels and everything appears to be working just as it should. It is so nice to fill my watering can just a few steps away from my flowers rather than having to lug it around from the other side of the house! I am very pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it to others! June 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great! Easy to install and put in place. First rain hit and it worked great. Captured alot of water and the attached spigot hose worked well with filling up my watering can! November 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Easy to install and looks good. I would recommend buying the stand as you must hold the hose down low to get water out of and even then you can't get all the water out. July 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Little Banged Up ordered 3 of them online when they were the buy of the day and they were delivered by UPS. after opening up all 3 boxes, i realized that 2 of the 3 plastic barrels were all scratched up on the decorative front side. aside from that they do work. not very well, but they do work when completely filled with water. they need a lot of water gravity pressure to work properly. i wish that the instructions had said for best results, to elevate higher up off the ground. i will just have to buy a new piece of downspout, build a wood frame, and try again. regardless... im happy.
