Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BIll Rain Barrel with planter
Good features: Design/appearance of product; planter on top includes a drain; water escapes from near bottom of barrel which maximizes the amount of usable water. Poor features: the hose tends to kink over time if stored in a fashion where the hose is bent; the price is high (we bought one of these in store 2 years ago for about 30% lower price....I think the price we paid is high).

It is large; however, I was surprised at how quickly it fills up. It requires drilling a hole and modifying the downspout for water to enter. This is the first rain barrel I have ever purchased, and will need to retrofit a pipe to divert overflow water and prevent it from spilling over the siding and foundation.
*The only issue with shipping is it arrived with a dent in the side. Since it is plastic I placed it in the sun and after a few hours I was able to pop it out.

Rain Barrel works great and the gutter diverted kit is great and easy to install. My only issue is that the barrel is totally enclosed and only way to put water in it is by the diverter hole. There is no way to get inside to clean in future should algae, etc form on inside. I ended up drilling holes in top and buying a planter to use as a lid.

Great concept, but could be easier to collect rain water if the downspout went directly into the barrel. The amount of water collected is minimal, unless it's raining really hard all day. We might end up drilling a hole in the top to connect directly to the downspout. Is asthetically pleasing though.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by abc123 Pretty but comes with work; nice once completed
We were having drainage issues in our front courtyard but couldn't find a way to rapidly without long gutter downspouts everywhere. I had the idea to install four of these rain barrels. When they were delivered they were in good condition but we quickly noticed that there was not a hole drilled that would allow water to flow freely in down from the downspout. It comes with a diverter kit that has to be installed with your downspouts. Luckily we happen to be getting gutter upgrades in these areas so I had the installation guys put in diverter kit it it comes with a diverter kit that has to be installed with your downspouts. Luckily we happen to be getting gutter upgrades in these areas so I had the installation guys put in diverter kits however I had to go out and buy a drill bit that would drill through this heavy plastic material so we could install and connect the plastic hose that comes from the downspout into the barrel. Had I known that it would be much more complicated to get up and running I may not have purchased them however now that it's done I'm really liking it. Please be aware that during heavy rains water is both diverted to the rain barrel and still comes out of your downspout. The hoses that come with it work nicely and reach to the top of the planter just fine. I use these to fill watering cans and make my rounds to my other pots. It would be nice if the holes for the hose were pre-drilled however I understand why they are not. It would be impossible to know how you are positioning it near your downspouts. Better to get a custom fit and do it yourself I guess. Just a lot more work.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Abhishek Good value; Diverter can be improved
The rain barrel is good quality. Rain diverter can be improved - during heavy rains water overflows from the diverter (white plastic connector between the upper and lower gutter pipes) and goes down the lower gutter pipe. Water flow into the plastic tube needs to be improved.

I was looking for something attractive to put out in our front yard garden. This rain barrel is perfect! The only thing I didn't realize is that it does not have any opening in the top. You have to drill a hole for the downspout diverter. I am not putting these under a downspout, so I will have to modify them by cutting a hole in the top to catch rain. Other than that, I love them!!!
