Rain gutters are up, just didn't want to use the down spouts, so purchased an awesome rain chain to funnel the water down to the barrel..Do you think this barrel will be able to collect the water?

Answer:
It might. Normal access per instructions is through the side. To use a rain chain, you could probably locate the barrel below the gutter and drill the access through the top instead of the side. This is not what the instructions describe, and would be a jury rig - there might be an issue with overflow when the barrel is full.

We are getting the rare California El Nino. It filled both urns but the water is spewing from the gutter "coupling" now that they are both filled within two days. A rare rain but any ideas? I stuffed it with plastic bags because we have a lot of mud around it from trenching associated with the project.

I'm answering my own question. The problem was our drain pipe was 2 x 2 and the diverter was 2 x 3. I wrapped some stick-on rubber weather seal around it once and cut two more pieces for each side that was the 3 inch side (total of 4 cuts). That pretty much sealed it up. If we get another down pour and it still leaks a tiny bit, I'll grout it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leaked :( Urn looks great- unfortunately - its is very large and is made with a seam that goes the entire way around the urn and it sprung a leak within the first week of having it :( August 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful rain barrel We water all our outdoor (and indoor) plants with rain water now, and this rain barrel is a lovely addition to our front landscape. We've also used the rain water to fill our kids' kiddie pool~the water is nice and clean. We have new gutters with new leaf guards which probably helps. We loved this so much we got a second one for the back yard a year later. Online YouTube videos helped us install it ourselves, but it did just fall over in a rainstorm, so we may need to have some help stabilizing it. July 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Its good The urn is real nice. but the divertor is not that good and its difficult to get it mounted properly July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Waters all my garden pots and planters! Love, love, love my rain barrel. Easy installation. Looks gorgeous. Great decision. June 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good product - with one caveat The rain barrel was exactly the color, size and shape I wanted, and I received it three days earlier than was projected, which made me very happy! The caveat is that the outlet at the bottom leaves about 1 inch of water in the bottom of the barrel because the outlet is placed above the bottom, causing water to stagnate in it if it doesnt rain regularly. For folks using it as a diverter away from the house, or opening the top, this could cause a concern for mosquitos. February 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Functional and looks good! Rain barrel is great. It is larger than I expected it to be. Planter is functional and make rain barrel look good as landscaping. Cutting gutter was kind of a pain, but overall installation was quite simple. There is an extra hole on the barrel that isn't in the instructions but must apparently be some kind of vent (because I ordered 2 of these). Keep in mind this is not pressurized, gravity only, so only trickles out of a soaker hose. I did pour a 4x4 concrete slab to support the barrel and give it some height (pressure) and stabilize it. I can feel the savings$$$! June 22, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice product but arrived damaged A quality rain barrel... nice looking and sturdy. Well-priced for a barrel that is over 55 gallons. Note that it looks a lot larger than "just 30 extra gallons", especially if put up on cinder blocks. Instructions are easy to follow. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is that it had been dropped - there was a crack line near the base and the bottom was buckled. Return was simple and we are getting a replacement. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Garden Saver I have four 85 gallon WaterUrns totaling 340 gallon. They are set up in two pairs. One from each pair is set a little higher than the other to allow water to be stored with maximum efficiently. These are great for the needed water in the fall for the garden. July 22, 2014
