Will this product also kill carpenter bees

Asked by: Ann
no, but carpenter bee traps are easy to make, and require no lures. you can find many designs online. i would reccomend to put several screws in jar cap so can unscrew jar. also recommend plastic jar because of weight

Put them where I have a lot of wasps eating my Monarch caterpillars. No wasps caught. Two weeks later after attractant was expired, I bought two refill attractants thinking maybe I just got a bad batch. Still no wasps caught. Doesn't work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Garbage, don't waste your money. Trap itself SEEMS to be well made, but I wouldn't know since I've caught nothing. Bait does not work, and even if it did it only lasts two weeks. They say for a heavy infestation on only 1 acre to place 42 traps. That's $588 pre tax. Then with a bait replacement costing $5 per trap and about 5 minutes to rebait (if they're easily accessible). So if you're ready to invest over $600 on the traps + $210 EVERY TWO WEEKS and spend a minimum of 3-1/2 hours EVERY TWO WEEKS to replace the bait then go for it. I can tell you they won't catch many buggers, they're ugly and oh yeah, an exterminator can FIX your problem for way less cash. I've had 2 traps for 2 weeks where heavy traffic of red paper wasps AND yellow jackets exist and they don't pay any attention to the traps. Haven't caught a single one. Followed directions to the T and I watch them buzz right by. I've even knocked down 3 paper wasp nests within 6 feet of these since I hung them up. Like I said, heavy activity, but show no interest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great! Purchased a month or so ago to help reduce the number of wasps that have nested in our leafless gutters and then fly all around our deck. I was a bit skeptical that this trap would work but I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised as it worked wonderfully! I think there may be a bit of an art in finding a "sweet spot" to place it. Our first location seemed to be a bit too far from their home and didn't interest the little buggers. Moved the trap to about 15ft away from a very active area and whalah, trapped so many over a few weeks I can't even count how many are in there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Results First off, I read reviews for most products I purchase now a days. I saw this trap got mixed reviews on the website. I thought I'd still give it a try and I'm glad I did. I am blown away by how many yellow jackets it catches. I just cleaned it out this morning and by late afternoon there's already 40 yellow jackets inside. Once they fly in, they can't get out and once they hit the water (mixed with dish soap) they can't fly. I can't say more for this products effectiveness. I can't imagine why anyone would give it a poor review. Quality seems high, easy to assemble and add attractant. Highly recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as described Despite the mixed reviews by others here, I took the chance and bought it. It didn't catch anything the 1st 2 days, but then out of nowhere the wasps were checking in. I now call it "The Hotel California". Im sold !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete waste of money I've had this up for two weeks, within 8-12 feet of areas under my deck where I've had to knock down 5 nests this summer. Wasps still come within 3 feet of it and still choose to go into my siding. Other than one tiny spider on the outside, this trap has collected nothing. Nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm so thankful for this trap Last Summer, we had a professional come over & inspect our backyard. She said there wasn't much we could do because the nest was in a neighbor's yard, & they were just scavenging in ours. Our neighbor has a jungle- it's never even be mowed in the 23 years I've lived here. I knew they wouldn't take care of it. Anyway, She sprayed our eaves & that was it. She said the traps "don't work". Well, she was wrong. This did a tremendous job. It caught over 30 in less than a week. We followed the instructions to a T, & put it under part of a tree they seemed to be coming from, so it was shaded. No more stings for my family or my dogs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work on my Yellow Jackets I had high hopes when I hung this trap about 4 feet from a large nest. Left if up for 5 days and caught 2 (TWO) yellow jackets. It might work in the long run, but with a large nest in the front yard they had to be gone - FAST. I Resorted to spraying (after dark) and now 99% of the wasps are dead. Don't waste your time with this trap thing. I'm heading back to Home Depot to see if I can return it.
