CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by How Easy can this be! My wife started a craft idea that needed holes drilled in glass bottles, I tried the regular carbide tipped bits and broke 9 out of 10 glass bottles. I was about to give up when doing research, I saw these, so I tried them... WHAT a difference, I can drill a hole in about 30 seconds and never break the bottle. It is so easy! Forget about those other specialty bits, these will save you time and money and drills a perfect hole every time. I just wish I had know the difference before running a dozen or so bottles. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for what the home owner needs Went to install an RO system and had to drill through granite for the first time, reading about it online everybody recommended 100 dollar drill bits you have to buy from a contractor supply store online. Attempting to find something local I could use to install the system I had I ended up trying this Rigid bit; the directions and the experts and all the advice online suggests you practice before you do this on your counter and I could not agree more. I had some scrap granite samples, i'm sure porcelain tile would work too, which I practiced on and the torque from your drill as it contacts the granite can make the bit skip at the 45 degree approach. My wife would have been upset, to say the least, if the samples I practiced on were the end result of my drilling. After a few attempts I felt I was ready, also used a cheap spray bottle from Home Depot to keep the bit cool while drilling. This review took longer to write then it did for me to drill the hole, for a home owner who needs to drill maybe one or two holes in their granite countertop every ten years; can't go wrong with this. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfection for drilling china! I am learning the art of Bonsai and cannot begin to afford Bonsai pots. So I picked up a few doable things at the thrift store, got this bit and drilled drain holes. Amazing how well it worked! Did need help drilling the "nitch" because my hands have been damaged, but after that, it was a breeze! Was shocked at the price, but worth it now and will have it forever! September 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I used the 3/4" version of this bit to drill a drain hole in an expensive hard ceramic pot I didn't want to risk breaking the pot by using a dull masonry bit and hammer drill, so based on the recommendations here I drove to Home Depot to buy the Ridgid diamond core bit. I've had many positive experiences with the brand. Using a cordless driller/driver and a stream of water, I was able to drill a very neat hold in the bottom of the pot in about one minute. Once the hole was started, the drill had a very sure, solid feel and I was confident that there was very little risk of breaking the pot. The bit cut through the hard ceramic like butter. Be sure to keep the bit wet during the drilling operation so that it doesn't overheat and burn the diamonds - The water also helps move the dust out. June 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FINALLY! A Ceramic Pot Drainage Hole. Based on reviews here, I purchased the 3/4 inch bit to drill a drainage hole in my ceramic pot. This was my third try using various other bits recommended for the purpose & LOTS of time, achieving unsatisfactory results. This bit worked like a dream & took about a minute! I was very surprised & pleased. Other reviewers here said to use water when drilling, so I put my big pot upside down on a towel in the bathtub & sprayed gently at an angle with my handheld shower while my son drilled the hole.... smooth as butter, wow! I could hardly believe it. When dry, I finished the sides of the hole, which I'd noticed were water permeable, with an exterior weatherproofing product, in hopes of preventing water wicking, hence pot cracking, during the winter freeze/thaw cycles. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The perfect tool for the job! I bought a couple of very large clay pots for the patio and didn't realize until It was time to plant them that they didn't have drain holes! No problem I thought! I have drill bits for metal, they will make short work of this...... Um,. No... 5 minutes of hard and high speed drilling barely left a mark. I picked this drill bit up (5/8ths size I think) and oh my goodness, its the right tool for the job to say the least! It took about 20 seconds to core out a perfectly smooth drain hole. What a relief! I Fully recommend this for adding drain holes in pottery - I cant say how long the tool will last since I only used it for about 40 seconds between the two pots but I can say that it worked just as well in the second pot as it did for the first. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by diamond drill core bit I couldn't believe how well this worked cutting a hole in a glass bottle. Just keep spaying a bit of water as you drill. Made a perfect hole. February 10, 2015
