Can I use this with 220 V outlet?

Asked by: Anonymous
No. You can buy a 220V charger but the 115V will be damaged in that outlet.

Are these two 12v Li battery chargers interchangeable - r86049 & r86045 ? what is the difference?

I purchased the r9000k 12v combo kit which includes the r86045 batter charger and r82059 & r82049 batteries. Can I also use the r86049 battery charger with these batteries?
Asked by: krazkix
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID! They are very similar chargers and are interchangeable in the RIDGID 12V compact battery series. The R86049 is a dual chemistry Energy Star rated charger that is commonly sold as an accessory, where the R86045 is a standard 12V Lithium Ion charger supplied in a combo-kit package. Regards, RIDGID

Yes, the AC86049 charger is just the accessory version of the R86049 charger, and can be used with the R86048 battery. Thank you RIDGID

what is teh difference between the Batteries and the chargers?

what is the difference between these Batteries: RIDGID 12-Volt 2.0-Amp Hour Hyper Lithium-Ion Battery Model # AC82049 $50.00 AND RIDGID 12-Volt Hyper Lithium-Ion Battery Model # AC82048 and if both fit in my older drill /driver....then will the charger that came with the tool charge both of these batteries?
Asked by: jums
The AC82048 is a 1.5 Ah rated 12V Lithium Ion (LI) battery pack, and the AC82049 a similar battery in shape/design, but is rated at 2.0 Ah. They do require their correct LI charger, and without your older 12V drill model number, there is not a way to say whether they would be compatible with it or not. You may have an older 12V drill from the 2003 period, which had a totally different design. Thanks, RIDGID

Where can I purchase 12-volt battery charger that takes 220 volt AC input?

I purchased a 12 volt RIDGID kit that I want to send to my family in Europe but found that included charger takes only 110 volt AC input.
Asked by: olegsaf
Thank you for your interest! RIDGID does not offer their cordless line of power tools in a 220V version, so there is not a charger to advise this customer of that will allow the R9000K kit to be used in Europe on 220V. Regards, RIDGID

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Batteries and Charger are short lived. Batteries and charger only last about 1 year. After that they need to be replaced. The lifetime warranty is not as is advertised. After filling out the paperwork they only warrantied for three years and now looking to purchase batteries and charger to keep the drill going. The drill is small and good for the work I do but for price given with the expectation of lifetime warranty on tool and batteries, this has turned out to be a bad purchase. The warranty paperwork and detailed process is designed to discourage the user from following the process. I did and still only recieved 3 years. Next problem is calling Rigid Service. Get ready to be on hold for a long time and don't be surprised if you get disconnected. You can repeat this process several times and may get through but I never did and gave up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excessively short life span This thing did not last 20 charges. Unfortunately, I had to buy another one to charge my four batteries. Go with the AC power head and forget this battery powered feature/hassle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I liked the tool very much while it lasted, but now it's pretty much useless. The battery charge is only good for drilling 5 holes, and then goes dead. Put the dead battery in the charger, and it runs for only 4 or 5 minutes and then shuts down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from lasted for 2 uses I used this when I first received it as a gift. A month later I used it again and it worked fine. I tried it once more but the battery and charger were both dead. I'm not sure if its a bad battery or charger but am leaning toward the charger since it lights briefly and then nothing. Lousy quality!
