Answer:
Drill/Driver Tool only means it does not come with battery and charger. I've owned the JobMax for years and already have these so this was a great money saving alternative for me. It is still eligible for the lifetime warranty through RIDGID so that was another plus.

Answer:
If these are things that the customer is seeing on the Home Depot web site, they would need to address that for them. A console, based on our product data base, would be just a bare tool, no battery no charger. There is not a product description in our data base of “Drill/Driver Tool only”. However, that does describe a console type item.

Mine also did this. It was my 3 year old battery I was using from my JobMax driver. Even with a full charge it did not have the current available to drive the tool. Bought a hyper Li to replace it.

Answer:
No, the R82009 does not have any type of re-set. If you are certain it is not the battery needing to be re-charged, the drill will need to be checked by a local service provider to determine the cause and a correction.

We own a Ridgid Cordless Drill R82009.... and you offer a R82009N. Is the "N" a meaningful difference? Will the batteries be interchangeable?

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best decision I ever made. As you can see from my ratings I absolutely love this little drill. I use it all the time and in some pretty rough conditions. I told my wife the other day that this drill was the best purchase I had ever made. I make furniture and other wood items and use this all the time. The backup battery sits in the charger until i need it and then I just switch them around. It has all the torque I need to drill larger holes in hard wood and even screws in lag bolts that have a pilot hole drilled for them. I misplaced my drill the other day and I'm going crazy trying to find it. That's how much I like it. October 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Changed LED light switch from earlier versions BAD! I almost returned this replacement drill (two other stolen), but then I read the manual that came with it. LED 'timeout feature that cause the light to dim, then shut off when drill not being used'. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. I prefer the on/off action that my previous RIGID drills had. I won't send it back because I think it is the best bang for the buck in cordless drill that only weighs 4 lbs with battery installed. I put up a 25 ft section of 8' fence (all boards fastened with screws through pilot holes, hence two drills) in THREE DAYS, so I am hooked on using them for projects. May 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWSOME THIS DRILL/DRIVER IS A GREAT TOOL. LOTS OF POWER, BATTERIES LAST LONG. I HAVE 2 OF THEM AND HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM YET. November 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy To Use Easy Product to use. Vey dependle and keeps charge. November 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect for hvac Works perfect for hac service calls when you need a small drill to take screws out of panels and fits nice in tool bags November 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fell apart first time I used it I have the matching impact driver and love it. I bought this to add to the collection. I used it for about five minutes. I was drilling a small pilot hole when the whole front end fell apart; small parts went everywhere. Needless to say I returned it and am going to buy a different brand. Just get the impact driver. It has much more power anyway. October 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice drill, good price. The drill is compact but still powerful, I was was glad I could just buy the drill without the batteries, since I have other Ridgid products and wanted to save some cash. No real complaints yet,the light casts some weird shadows but in a dark spot it is still helpful. October 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tough little drill Have been using this drill for a couple of years now at a copper mine with no problems. It is a very corrosive, nasty environment and it has held up very well. January 1, 2014
