Customer Questions & Answers

What is the difference between Console and Drill/Driver Tool only

Asked by: Anonymous
Drill/Driver Tool only means it does not come with battery and charger. I've owned the JobMax for years and already have these so this was a great money saving alternative for me. It is still eligible for the lifetime warranty through RIDGID so that was another plus.

sudden shut down

all of a sudden the light came on ... and the drill stopped working ... any way to RESET the drill?
Asked by: Anonymous
Mine also did this. It was my 3 year old battery I was using from my JobMax driver. Even with a full charge it did not have the current available to drive the tool. Bought a hyper Li to replace it.

We own a Ridgid Cordless Drill R82009.... and you offer a R82009N. Is the "N" a meaningful difference? Will the batteries be interchangeable?

Asked by: Anonymous
The letter N represent a console on-line only individual item, on the Home Depot web site, it contains the same drill.

12-Volt Compact Cordless Drill Console (Tool Only) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful lil Drill I have now owned this drill for over a year now and I use it everyday.I repair Tv's and Appliances and this drill is perfect to use.The power is there for the big jos and for the small ones like a power supply in a Tv to back of range.I have used the Dewalt 7.2 in the past and replaced that with this drill. The Dewalt did not give the rpm's to drill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would recommend I was impressed with this models light weight design and power. The battery life is impressive, out lasting other brands with greater battery voltage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great power for a 12v I have the jobmax 12v it excellent for the voltage and sizes. So when I needed a compact drill I found the 18v but it was to big, not much room in the truck. When I found the 12v I knew it should have enough power for the job. Surprisingly it had more power than expected. But with all that power the battery dies faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best decision I ever made. As you can see from my ratings I absolutely love this little drill. I use it all the time and in some pretty rough conditions. I told my wife the other day that this drill was the best purchase I had ever made. I make furniture and other wood items and use this all the time. The backup battery sits in the charger until i need it and then I just switch them around. It has all the torque I need to drill larger holes in hard wood and even screws in lag bolts that have a pilot hole drilled for them. I misplaced my drill the other day and I'm going crazy trying to find it. That's how much I like it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warranty doesn't matter Home Depot sell these Rigid power tools will a lifetime warranty but they are cheap and die in a year or two with only mild home use. Then you have to pay and mail the product to get repaired. Not worth buying Rigid for the warranty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Changed LED light switch from earlier versions BAD! I almost returned this replacement drill (two other stolen), but then I read the manual that came with it. LED 'timeout feature that cause the light to dim, then shut off when drill not being used'. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. I prefer the on/off action that my previous RIGID drills had. I won't send it back because I think it is the best bang for the buck in cordless drill that only weighs 4 lbs with battery installed. I put up a 25 ft section of 8' fence (all boards fastened with screws through pilot holes, hence two drills) in THREE DAYS, so I am hooked on using them for projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 12v ridgid drill I have this drill and really like it for it's compact use and power I order one on line for a friend who had tried mine and received it no problem, however it comes with no charger and no batteries... the web site doesn't mention this and now I have to return it as the price becomes far more than my friend wants to pay ....lost a customer I think. product is great info on line very poor
