Replacement battery

I have a rigid drill Model # cs0842 10740 and I need replacement batteries for it. The battery number is CS1018. Will the 12 volt batteries shown here fit my drill? Thanks for you help.
Asked by: Patrick
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID! Without knowing the correct model information for your drill there is not a way to advise if the battery indicated will fit or work with your drill. Cs0842 10740 is not a drill model number. Correct replacement RIDGID batteries and chargers and their pricing, can be determined and obtained through the RIDGID master parts and accessory distributor at 1-877-544-9253. Regards, RIDGID

why is batteries that come with the tool have a lifetime warranty but if i buy an extra battery to go with the tool it only has a 3 year warranty?

When I went to buy the extra battery it didn't say anywhere that buying just a battery didn't come with the lifetime warranty instead you get a 3 year limited warranty. Actually on the home depot web page it shows a picture of the battery, then the next picture is one of the Ridgid Lifetime Service Agreement logo. I am really considering sending it back because if I would have known that I would not of bought just the battery. I like ridged tools and have a few, but if you don't get the lifetime warranty it should be right there in the Description or specifications.

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. I believe it would be best to reach out to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer is RIDGID and their customer service department can be reached at 1-800-4-RIDGID.

12-Volt Hyper Lithium-Ion Battery is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete garbage I love Ridgid tools. And I have had great experience with the 18volt Lithium-Ion batteries. But these little 12v batteries do not work at all. I am tired of sending them in to be replaced. They are too small to start with and make the tools under powered. And they fail quickly. D.O.A. The larger capacity version of this battery DOES seem to have enough power and seems to hold up. In my opinion Ridgid should discontinue this little battery, substitute the larger battery, and anyone going to the trouble to send in a dead little version should be rewarded with a larger capacity replacement. I think the quality brand of Ridgid depends on action like this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Able to recharge defective battery I got the "Defective" flashing lights when trying to charge one of these batteries. I saw a comment on a similar problem with Milwaukee M12 batteries that said that he was able to charge the battery after first draining it using the flashlight. Since the batteries look similar, I tried it with the Ridgid battery, and it is now charging. Don't know if it will last, but I'm hopeful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Battery Life and Performance I purchased 5 of these batteries 8 months ago and now only 2 are working. Ridgid replaced 1 battery after only 1 month of service. They replaced 2 more batteries after being used only a couple of months. Now Ridgid refuses to replace any of my defective batteries. They advertise a warranty that they don't honor. Out of a total 8 batteries, 6 have been bad .... Don't think the 2 remaining batteries will last much longer. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. DON'T PURCHASE THESE BATTERIES.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from only lasts 4-8 months I have had 4 these batteries for 2 years, and I have already had to send them all in for replacement three times. The process is aggravating because in order to re register the batteries you have to spend about a half hour on the phone to supply them with the new serial numbers. Not something I would expect from a "professional grade" tool. These make the whole tool system too unreliable to make a living with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BATTERY FIX!!! It is a common problem for these batteries to just stop working (both lights on the charger indicating a defective battery). This happened to one of my two and I couldn't send it in for warranty because I didn't fill out the warranty papers (company bought the tools and its easier to buy new than warranty) I popped the top off the battery and found that the 0 ohm resistor had fried, I just soldered in a piece of wire as a jumper and BOOM the battery charges again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy I purchase this to replace the other brand cordless drill, after less than 20 times of use the batterys and or the charger will not charge the battery. Last Time RIDGID

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend The battery sent to me with this order is working fine. However, my complaint is that the two identical batteries that came with the product failed in about three months. The drill is great but the batteries underperformed. I bought another drill from a competitor because of this experience. I then bought this replacement battery because I was annoyed at having a $100 drill that I could not use, sitting on the shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from does exactly what I need it to I have been using this drill every day in a commercial setting(10 to 14 hrs outside ) and have zero problems. I do know if you run lithium batteries completely dead they won't last long so I only let them go to 25% charged before I recharge them
