Harley03, do we really have to explain to you why someone would buy this amazing tool? It's simple...they already own a Ridgid 12 volt tool. Was that so difficult to comprehend?

I work as a automotive mechanic. Did a lot of research on different 1/4'' impact drivers & was going to settle for the Makita. FORTUNATELY they were sold out at Home Depot. I was impatient and started looking at what they had to offer in stock. I know my Dad who is a jack of all trades (automotive, construction, plumbing, etc) has a 18V Ridgid drill & he said he loves that tool. So I called him & he said yes Ridgid is a solid brand. I bought and used it today, mannn this thing has got some solid torque and is very fast! I use it to take off undercarriage bolts & various things off cars @ work. It has plenty of power and is very portable. The light is also very bright and is good for using in dark areas of the car where you can't see. I highly recommend this tool. You will not regret it I promise!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anthony Powerful, compact, good price, good warranty
I bought this impact driver to compliment the Rigid drill that uses the same batteries (so I already had the batteries). I took it to work to use on some new equipment I'm building, and I must say it has quite a bit of power for it's size. Even when you don't need all of the power/force this is capable of, it still makes driving easier screws and bolts much easier than using a regular drill because the bit tends to not slip and strip out the screw head like it might with a drill.
I've only been using this for a few weeks now, but it's a great tool, and when you add on the lifetime warranty (make sure you send in the paperwork) it's a hard deal to beat. Only complaint is that HD should offer a model that comes with the batteries for people that don't already have them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bruce Handy Little tool
I'd been wanting an impact driver for quite a while. This little guy wasn't on sale but it was still a good price and the reviews were good. It doesn't come with a battery which was fine with me because I have other Ridgid tools and 2 batteries. It's compact so I can get into tighter places than with a corded impact driver and it has good power.

Bought this impact driver to go along with the 12v drill. Drove a a lot of screws and bolts on the last project. Like the compact size and the power. Works great for furniture and cabinet building to get into tight spaces.

I ordered this online and it came three days later. One word of caution, the batteries that are referenced in the on line information are not the correct batteries for this tool. I alerted HD to this mistake and they said they would look into it. The battery that this tool uses is the same one that is used for the earlier model of their 12V compact drill, which I own and love. Last year I went out and bought the hi capacity battery for the drill and am now using same battery for the impact driver - the battery lasts forever and I highly recommend it when using the impact driver. The driver out of the box worked as expected, has a good quality feel to it, the light is handy and the trigger control is just what you need. I like the size and convenience of the tool as it fits into my tool box easily, along with the drill which is about the same size. I easily powered 3/8" X 4" lag bolts into KD spruce dimensional lumber. I even used it while restoring my little Dodge truck, installing the door and window trim - plenty of control and no over torquing the screws. Very pleased and highly recommended.

Having purchased the drill and flashlight combo at a good discount (return-used) and loving it (LOVE IT!), I had to break down and get the impact. No regrets. One small complaint- the onboard light doesn't remain lit for a period of time like the drill does on the one I got. Was probably mf'd in that brief period before that feature became a standard on most everything, but I can't say that for certain.
It's the first tool out of the bag on jobsites (after the thermos).
