This is a great planer. It is powerful and easy to use. It takes a little work to get the feed tables perfect but spending time doing so will greatly reduce the snipe. The dust port seems to work great. I connected it to my shop vac and it kept the work surface very clean. I can’t speak to how well this would hold up in a professional or production setting but I would definitely recommend this planer to any DIYer in need of a quality tool at a reasonable price. I ordered this planer online and it was shipped very fast.

I was a little worried about how this would work when I seen the blades. compared to others they seemed small and thin and not very strong. But after using it ,I was very happy with the way it worked. So the blades worked great and then I found out the blades was much cheaper to replace the most other brands of thickness planers were . So it turns out my worries turned into a bonus . Easy set up and I love the long cord that it has on it . This is the 3rd riggid product I have got and so for there products have not been any problem to perform its job.

Very good thickness planer. I bought this to planer as one of the main components of a basement workshop I am putting together. It has no problem going through most boards, but be aware that feeding a 12" board through could potentially cause the motor to stall, and the safety mechanism to switch the machine off (this usually only happens when you're taking too much thickness out of the board in one pass). The only other negative that I've found with using it is that it you can get some snipe around 2-3" from the end of the board. If you are careful and support your board as it passes through on both ends, the sniping is minimized. I've also seen boards put in at an angle to decrease the snipe area. Overall its a very good product and well worth the money.

My faithful old Delta 22-560, which makes 18000 cuts per minute with two blades just wasn't quite up to the job of planing end-grain cutting boards. The Ridgid 4331 three blade planer makes 27000 cuts per minute and is so accurate and smooth that it planed several end grain hardwood cutting boards, including one 12 7/8 x 22". After adjusting the in-feed and out-feed table extensions and bolting the R4331 to the work-bench, it planed these difficult to plane pieces so well that they needed very little sanding with my Porter Cable 6" random orbital. Ind-I-Cut made it easy to make several passes of about 1/128", one of the keys to successful end-grain planning. I inspected the blades and blade keepers after this hard workout and they looked perfect. Access to the blades involves removing two screws with the provided tool -- I don't see how it could be much easier. The chip extractor works very well with my dust collecting system. It took only a few minutes to register online with Ridgid to get the lifetime warranty. If this tool keeps performing the way it has this week, I will continue to be very happy.

I've used this planer for about 6 weeks now. It has been used exclusively for planing cutting boards prior to sanding. It's been easy to use and provides consistent results. Totally satisfied with this product and would not have any problem recommending this unit. A solid performer.

Ordered plastic replacement dust impeller 3 months finnally got it after next week , next week, next week, next week months later.I finnally put metal blades on old one , has held up longer then original. Indent gauge quit working soon after using. Gave up on it. Too much plastic where metal would make so much more sense. So/so I use it for cedar black walnut , some red oak. Blades need replaced after a couple of months weekend use. (Don't forget the months of waiting for replacement impeller(
