Very heavy to carry. The box was already picked up by trash collector, so I can't double check the packaging.i love it but I'd love it more if it could roll!

Yes, there were casters. Check inside the vac, as mine were stored inside....which means you didn't throw them away. I'd ask Home Depot to replac the wheels.

Yes, it does come with wheels, technically I think they are called 'casters'. I'm pretty certain they are the standard push in casters that come with small desks and most anything you buy now with wheels so if you've accidentally thrown them out they should be easy to replace. This may even be them from the Home Depot site but of course you will want to check the size to be certain: Read More

If it is super fine dust, this sop vac is not made for doing something like that. I would not use it without a filter as the tiny particles will clog the motor. I would sweep first then use the shop vac.

You're vacuuming dust. The only thing that falls into the canister are heavier items such as nuts, bolts, etc. Try inserting the filter into an old pair of nylon stockings and then vacuum as you normally would....the filter is much easier to clean. Simply (and carefully) remove the stocking.

Thank you for contacting RIDGID.
Please note that when vacuuming dry materials, the filter must always be in the vac to reduce the risk of leaks and possible damage to the vac.

It has a drain for emptying but I'm guessing that if it's full then it may be too heavy to lift the vacuum to drain it. It would be no problem if you are just talking about a little water. I got a Ridgid pump that is made for this. It screws into the drain hole, you hook a garden hose to it, and when the vacuum is full just turn on the pump. There is bottom drain outlet with a screw off cap. Optionally, you can add a pump that attaches to outlet for draining via a garden hose. Example: flood basement to pump outside.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Shop Vac! We wanted a good shop vac for our maintenance shop and this shop vac works awesome!! Built well and has a lot of suction. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiter than expected So i already had the Ridgid 4 gal shop vac (which i loved/still love), but needed to upgrade vacs as my home shop has expanded. I picked up the 14 gal because it had all the same motor/suction specs as the 16 gal, but was both smaller and quieter (even quieter than the 4 gal, 5hp one I already had), according to Ridgid. Of course, I was skeptical, so I did a test. Not only did I use the db meter app on my phone to compare the 4v14, but I also compared the 14 gal with and without the "muffler/diffuser" attachment, which I'd purchased despite reading multiple reviews denouncing its effectiveness. The pics attached are my completely unbiased results... The first reading is my base line - nothing in the garage powered on. 2nd, is the 4 gal. 3rd, the 14 gal. 4th/5th, the 14 gal without/with the muffler, respectively. 2 notes - I did thoroughly clean the 4 gal, as well as put a brand new filter on it; also, all tests were done sans hose amd attachments (except, obviously, for the muffler test on the 14 gal). My conclusion is that Ridgid's claims that the 14 gal is quieter than the rest of their vacs is, indeed, true. However, the muffler attachment does not truly muffle anything. This doesn't mean that it won't effectively diffuse dust, but don't purchase this attachment expecting to reduce sound January 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WORKS GREAT!!! Vac works great!!!! bought 2 other vacuums to keep my basement clean, have 2 litter boxes in basement and no vac would pick up litter. Vacuum very strong, yet quiet. can see the difference in carpet color because it really picks up the litter "dust". Would recommend this vac in a second! May 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Difficulty with using a Rigid Wet/Dry Vac I purchased a Rigid wet/dry vac from Home Depot and found a great deal of difficulty using this product. At first the machine works fine but after no more than 10 minutes the air suction reverses, spewing the last of the water remaining in the hose out on the floor. Each time I need to clean out the water, which fills up with about 2 inches (at most) of water, clean the filter and wait until it dries until it works again. I may get to use the machine for about 10 minutes before the suction reverses and begins blowing air. May 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome!! This is a great purchase. It has tons of power, and really does a great job. I wish it came with a couple more attachments, but there are plenty others that can be purchased. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best wet/dry in its catagory I purchased this vacuum back in December of last year. I have a 4 gallon ridgid vacuum that I use mainly to vacuum my cars, but I need something that I could use for dust collection in my shop. I did quite a bit of research on vacuums to see what would give me the most bang for my buck and ended up choosing this one. deciding factors were something powerful enough suction to use along with a cyclone for dust collector. Access to accessories like filters. Reliability and warranty. Noise level want that big of a deal for me as in my shop where it was going to be used is a loud environment anyway. Though this vacuum is quieter than other smaller versions. With all of those feature in the price range. This vacuum was just the way to go and I have not looked back. I also purchased the ridgid pro hose to go with which I really like Just a great vacuum. Has enough suction to run through a secondary collector like a cyclone rig with no problem. Use it to collect dust from my table saw. The build quality is fairly sturdy. Its a vacuum that has seen a lot of use since I purchased it about 6 months ago. Still going strong with no problems. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, good price Using it for a dust collection system. Works great December 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rigid 14-Gal. PROFESSIONAL WET/DRY VACUUM I got this for the extra power (6 HP) and wide hose (2.5 inch). Lifetime warranty is a definite plus. From all my research I felt the price was a little high ($99). I saw it on sale near the end of 2015 for $89, but didn't have the do-re-mi at the time. HD has not budged off of the current price since. That said I still bought it and am not sorry. I also wish it had a recoiling power cord instead of having to manually wrap it around the handle.
