Nope, none at all, very sturdy. It could be people improperly operating it and pushing down on it instead of letting the blade do the work. It could also be improper placement of the blade or over/under-tightening the screw. I usually don't go with warranties; stuff is deigned/engineered to break right after they expire.

I got the blade wobble and didn't want to deal as if they couldn't get the spindle right, what else would I find down the line. the spindle was the most important part of the saw, other than the motor of course.

Answer:
it isn't a laser, it's a light that reflects off the saw blade and shows the reflection onto your piece of wood. This was one thing I liked. You see it fine in the daytime too no problem.

From the pictures it looks as it uses a light to cast a shadow of where the blade is going to go....actually is more accurate then a laser.

Does this saw replace the Ridgid Model MS1290LZA? Are they available in any stores or just on line? Will bevel go greater than 45 degrees?

I understand a vertical 5 1/2" baseboard can be placed against the back fence and cut with miter both ways. That's important to me.
The Model MS1290LZA was a more expensive saw, but this one seems to have similar specs. What's difference?
I would like to see one in a store before just ordering on line. Any store have the saw?

Yes, it sure can, and even up to an 8 or 9 inch board (depending on thickness), but reverse the sliding miter fences for maximum contact by the blade and GO SLOW to prevent kick-back. They should be available in stores now, check again to make sure. I'm not too sure what the exact differences are, as I haven't used/owned the model you're talking about. I'm not sure about what model this saw replaces...but it is capable of cutting more than a 45 degree miter angle. It will cut up to a 70 degree cut when cutting with the blade swung to the right side of the saw.

15 Amp 12 in. Corded Dual Bevel Sliding Miter Saw with 70 Degree Miter Capacity is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 230.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from just bought one. been waiting for ridgid to bring this back. I started looking at them last year. Then couldnt find one. I found the new version for $399. The dewalt is $500. And i have bought and threw away the last dewalt i will ever buy. I used the suppled blade which i will replace on about 800 feet of base trim with no problems. no blade wobble. just good accutate cuts. It is a better saw than dewalts. Better price. And a way better warrenty. highly recommended. I rehab about two houses a year by myself. This saw will replace two others making my life just a little easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from better and cheaper than the compitition I upgraded to this from a dewalt. The guy that helps me with some of my flip houses has the compound dewalt and he would rather use mine on the job. Since he started using my saw he has also started to buy ridged products. We have had a few problems with his saw and none with mine. We bought them within months of each other and I've never had any issues with my ridged. I bought the ridged two wheel stand with mine and would recommend it also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This RIDGID 15AMP 70 DEGREE MITER CAPACITY Saw Rocks!! I upgraded from a Ryobi 15-Amp 10 in. Sliding Miter Saw with Laser Model# TSS102L which served me well and is still in use as a back up to my new RIDGID 15 AMP 12 IN. CORDED DUAL BEVEL SLIDING MITER SAW WITH 70 DEGREE MITER CAPACITY which goes completely above and beyond my expectations especially for the $399 price point!!! I have recently knocked out a 30X30 booth for a client of mine Kill Cliff for the Reebok Cross Fit Games in Carson, CA that I had to build 2 15ft tall by 30ft long walls out of re-claimed wood, along with an American Flag made from 4,790 Kill Cliff recovery drink cans!!! I would recommend this product to anyone in the market for a new 12in Miter Saw!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mac Daddy of Miter Saws I am so excited about my new 12" compound miter saw. I like it so much that I brought a friend from work home with me at lunch to show it to him. Later, I overheard him telling another friend that it was the best miter saw that he has ever seen. It is loaded with features! I love the way that the miter angle detent button works. It came with crown molding guides and a great 12" Saw blade. I love the sliding feature. It has great directions about adjusting the angle locks and squaring the blade, but it was all perfectly set up right out of the box. This is going to be the new cornerstone of my shop tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Saw I just got this saw to replace my old 10" Makita chop saw. I love it. Took it out of the box and went through the installations and calibration steps. Everything was dead nuts on and it cut true and clean. I have cut 2 X 10 floor joists with ease and was able to cut a nice square end (with 2 passes) on 6 x 6 pt post. Sure beats having to make 4 cuts with my circular saw and still having to finish it off by hand. I just competed making several board and batten shutters and squaring the 12" wide ends was a snap with this saw. This saw has already seen quite a bit of use and it going to see a lot more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Typical Ridgid There are so many things about this saw to love except the most important - it's ability to saw wood. Many bells and whistles where engineered into this saw but unfortunately I think that pulled too much attention away from what matters. I just purchases the saw today and had the same experience many others have. The arbor seems to be poorly manufactured causing the blade to spin off-center like a parabola, not in a true circular plane causing it to jump slightly when the blade makes contact. This was immediately noticeable as soon as i squeezed the trigger for the first time. There was some lateral deflection in the blade which is to be expected from a Ridged product like this. Nothing too bad, but not good enough for the type of work I do. But the parallel deflection was actually starting to worry me to the point that I stopped using it today. You feel the whole assemble shake the moment the blade contacts whatever piece you are cutting. It was to the point where I was a little nervous about throwing a tooth off the blade. I took the blade off and re-attached just to see if it came loose but it was attached correctly. You can tell the arbor just isn't made well and feels cheap. I'm a general contractor who does a lot of finish carpentry so I have a good amount of experience and this is by far the worst wobble in any blade I've every seen. I'm really hoping this is one of the defective ones because I really want this saw to work out. Going to exchange it for another one this week and give'er one more chance to prove itself or Milwaukee it is. I will update.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to like it, but not so much So I have been looking for a 12" sliding miter saw for a few months as it was time to upgrade my 11 year old Hitachi 10" slider. I also have an old Delta, and tried a Dewalt 780, but just didn't like it. My Hitachi is very smooth with a soft start, and the Dewalt was very rough and a harsh cut, if that makes any sense. So I heard from a rep at Home Depot that Rigid was updating theirs and I was excited to see them come in to my local store. The folks at HD were great and got it out of the back for me, I loaded it up and went straight to a job I was working on. I am a very avid home improver, dyi-er with a lot of carpentry experience. This saw has some neat features, like the 16" cut range and 70 degree miter, but to me the basics were not very good. Seems like they focused more on the sizzle. But the basics were not very good - my saw had a very rough sounding bearing, and the blade actually wobbled. There were several subs working at the same sight and everyone said the same thing - man this thing is rough and loud. Too bad because it was a lot of saw for $399, and I really wanted to like it and make it a permanent part of my tools. But it didn't make the cut, took it back. With the rough way it rotated it was not accurate or consistent.
