Answer:
I would not recommend it, from a safety perspective this tool was not designed to cut wood and should only have abrasive wheels used with it.

It is not designed for this purpose and the wood sawdust generated will kill the electrical motor internal parts

Answer:
I think you CAN"T. I am not even sure they make a (wood) blade that fits this. The chop saw is not as precise cutting and it isn't designed to hold larger sized stock (you wouldn't generally be cutting 2"x4" solid steel bar with something this puny). Even if you can, I don't think it is a good idea. The arbor sizes are different, and this is probably on purpose.

Answer:
The manufacturer says not to cut wood with this saw. That being said, I am not saying to do it, but, I put a 14" wood blade on this saw when i had to cut about 200 4x4's into short lengths. It worked great and it went through them like a hot knife through butter. Do it at your own risk but it worked excellent for me.

Answer:
The attached fence can be angled. The blade does not angle though, so you can't cut compound miters.

Answer:
Yes, you can, using an abrasive disc to cut extruded aluminum may not result in the cleanest cut though and would require cleanup of the cut afterwords likely. There are special carbide blades that are better equipped for this type of work resulting in a cleaner cut. A metal bandsaw may also be a better approach.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID.
The RIDGID R41421 would not be recommended for cutting aluminum. The aluminum being a softer metal, would possibly not interact well with the grinding wheel, and would not likely grind away like a harder more ferrous metal. A band saw or jig saw with a metal cutting blade is recommended for use with that specific type of material.
Regards,
RIDGID

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst tool in my shop If you don't mind an off cut this saw is fine. If you need the cut to be true like I need it to be this saw literally does not cut it. A 4" pipe will be 3/32" off from the top of the cut to the bottom ......... useless

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used once Same as all the others I have owned, (except Harbor Freight). Good power, comes with a blade, I like the quick release to adjust the angle. That adjuster is what sold me, no tool to get out.
