Carbide Blade

Can I put a carbide metal blade on this saw similar to Dewalt DW7747?
Asked by: Josh
Josh, mine came with a metal blade, and I had to purchase a separate masonry blade. You can also use diamond steel blades for masonry. Always make sure the arbor size is correct.

Can I put a wood blade on this to cut wood?

Asked by: Doug
I would not recommend it, from a safety perspective this tool was not designed to cut wood and should only have abrasive wheels used with it.

15 Amp 14 in. Abrasive Cut-Off Machine is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed! Bought this saw over 4 years ago. I only use it to cut masonry bricks and blocks for landscaping work (different blade required). It is always used in a dusty and dirty environment and is stored in an equipment shed when not used. While I do use compressed air to blow it off after each use, I have done nothing else besides new blades when needed. I don't think you can kill these units? FYI: This is not the intended use for this saw!

They are the most bang for the buck and last. The older ones came with a cast body, the new ones are a stamped piece of sheet metal witch are not as durable in my opinion. I have had some of these saw for over thirty years and had to put new brushes in them from time to time. But for the money there just is not a better saw out there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good saw, great warranty, poor blade I would of given this 5 stars if it had come with a better blade (ridgid is just like all dewalt Milwaukee and Makita tools) they put a cheap blade on it... Swapped it out with a dilablo and it cuts steel like butter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for everyday use! Have only used mine on several occasions, grossly underpowered. Work to cut 1/2" rebar, struggles with 1/8 " wall tubing. Owned older models and this one is a real disappointment.
