Depends what kind of job your doing. If you're trimming out a whole house and you pretty much do this for a living like I do then I'd recommend a 100 ft. hose. However if you're a DIY and just work around the house a 50 ft. would work just fine. If you use a 100 ft. hose make sure you have an adequate compressor that is capable of reaching 150 psi's. A 3/8th inch hose works fine. It delivers enough force to drive a 2 1/2 inch finish nail with ease.

Answer:
There is not a designated or recommend hose size for use with the RIDGID R250AFE. The unit has a 70-120 PSI requirement, so a air hose that can consistently deliver/provide that pressure range could be used.+

This will do an excellent job for all the projects you listed. I have done so for trim, cabinet making and 6 ft cedar fencing with excellent results. It is very easy to use and I've had no issues. It also works great for making chicken coops...:)

What size divot does this leave in the material?

This question is from 15-Gauge 2-1/2 in. Angled Nailer

I've been using a cheaper 16-gauge finish nailer and my main problem with it is that it's a nailer/stapler and leaves an extra wide divot.

I'm assuming that since this gun (I think) is just a nailer, it would leave a smaller divot ... what size is it roughly? Could anyone post an image?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by May my new Brand Works great! Exactly what I was looking for, as close to a real finishing nail as it can get! July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by began to misfire after using it for a couple days Initially the gun worked great, but it began to misfire on the second day. By the third day, I had to remove misfired nails regularly. By the end of the week, it seemed to be almost every other shot was a misfire. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does The Job The nailer is light, comfortable to hold and is a "straight shooter". Solid tool, what every guy (or gal) needs. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rigid Warranty The Rigid warranty is a piece of cake if you know the trick. You have to wait 2 to 3 weeks after purchase before trying to register it online. If you wait it will go through online with no problem. I have registered 6 or 7 Rigid items this way with no problem. December 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great finish nail gun if right nails are used Banged happily through 1st project with nails that came with it. Switched to the Porter Cable nails (recommended by HD associate) for the second and it jammed every 3rd/4th nail....useless. Switched back to the originals as a test and worked great. Another review had same issue with Bostich nails and had success with Senco, so I mail-ordered 700 of those to try.....they work fine. It's the oval head that fits right. So the rub is, HD does not sell any nail that fits this gun!! (but can't blame the tool for that) November 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by horrible warranty If you buy this gun, make sure you read the fine print and double check which nails are "approved" by Rigid. December 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 15 gauge 2.5" angled finish nailer I am enjoying using this tool very much. It is very accurate and a breeze to use. I have used it to fasten base molding, handrails and balusters and door and window facing trim as well. October 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very well made product This nailer comes ready to go out of the box, and has worked very well for my first job with it installing new baseboards. I was able to use it with a very small air compressor, and was able to get great nail depth with just 70 psi on the regulator. For the price, you can't get a better nailer. September 15, 2015
