Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use this tool to install tongue and groove pine flooring ? Is the nail size adequate ?

Asked by: Michael
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID! The R250AFE is capable of being used in the installation of hard wood flooring, and most hard wood flooring is of a tongue and groove design, so it should have no problems being used with pine flooring. Regards, RIDGID

What size divot does this leave in the material?

I've been using a cheaper 16-gauge finish nailer and my main problem with it is that it's a nailer/stapler and leaves an extra wide divot. I'm assuming that since this gun (I think) is just a nailer, it would leave a smaller divot ... what size is it roughly? Could anyone post an image?

would this gun b a good one too use on 101 wood siding?

Asked by: bellman
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID. There is no recommendation for that application with the R250AFE. If the fastener requirements for 101 wood siding match those of the nail gun, then it possibly could be used for that application. Regards, RIDGID

15-Gauge 2-1/2 in. Angled Nailer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This finish nailer is great This thing shoots nails great and is easy to line up and put the nail where you want it. It has plenty of power. I've been a pro remodeling homes for over 30 years and tried a lot of nail guns. Many of them are weak and can't drive a nail like it should. This nail gun is great. I had and old Bostitch finish nailer for about 12 years and finally had to retire it. For the past 15 years I suffered through Senco, Bostitch, and Hitachi. Finally! A nailer that does what its supposed to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Plenty of power Right out of the box this gun worked great. Loaded it up with nails, hooked it to my compressor and bang baseboard and door trim installed in no time with no firing issues and each nail sunk perfectly into the wood

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Nailer. Be aware of the description. 2.5 " into hardwood ??? Nice product but I purchased this to face nail unfinished hardwood. It claims the ability to nail a 2.5" nail into hardwood. It jammed about every 4-6 nails. I switched to 1.5" nails and no issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Drives 2 1/2" finish nails into 3/4" pine ALMOST I'm a finish carpenter by trade so I expect my tools to perform. This nail gun is advertised to sink nails into oak, which I find hard to believe because it regularly would not sink them into pine. Also note that my compressor was not at fault, it puts out plenty of pressure for the other guns on the job. If you have the time to sink nails with your punch and hammer then this is a good buy. It feels like good build quality but for production work look elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good nailer I have had not problems with the gun, seems very smooth. I have not gotten any good information about the nails. I am using dewalt da nails and have no problems. The included nails appear the be senco, but there is not identification on the box. The instruction book was useless for nail purchasing or even what brands would be preferred. There is a distinct difference on the nail heads, so i guess that only time will tell, I hate to go buy more nails. Really nice product, but the nail issue leaves me a bit apprehensive.
