CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 90 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY!!!! I recieved my carpenter journeyman card in October 1974. I have used many worm drive saws from Porter Cable, Skil and Makita and they were all pretty much interchangeable as far as dependability. However, this Rigid Saw has been a pain since I bought it. I own the MAG model and it was about $50 cheaper so I expected their would be a tradeoff but not the rattling, the lack of power, and now I have used the lock button to change the blade and I guess I missed the warning where it said "permanently lock." . Spend the money and buy a Skil or Makita and avoid the headaches when it is 100 degrees and you just want to finish.. August 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A real stand up product even on a rainy muddy job site! Super cutting power and easy to handle. Saw went 3 months in the rain at a muddy job site and still handles well. Would recommend to contractors! November 24, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cord is not good Have had to change cord out a couple of times, bearing slips and switch sticks sometimes. November 25, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good saw I bought 2 of the worm drives did my research and they dont use cheap plastic gears like many now and they are a heavy duty product.........2 draw back no guide i would pay the extra 5 bucks for it if it was in the box HELLO RIDGID think a little.....second the cord ends seem to wear out and get loose i have had to replace both cords on my saws i ended up putting 25 foot long on there since i had to replace them anyways......but other then that the saw worked great March 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome saw I bought this saw to replace my skill worm drive that was only a year old that burned up. but what a difference in quality, comfort and performance the ridged is so much more I am glad I decided to buy it. only one draw back it does not come with a rip guide which I thought was strange but they can be ordered on line and they were less than 5 bucks that's a deal.. overall great product!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best saw ever. I've had other saws in the past, but this one is the best by far. It's a little heavier than the others. The first thing I would do is replace the saw blade with a thin kerf blade. Doing that turns this saw into a pleasure to use. November 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rigid Worm Drive The rigid worm drive is fairly lite. I enjoy it way better then a regular framing Circular saw. I am currently use a Skilsaw worm drive, that is what got me into the style of circular saw. I like the worm drive for the reach you have while cutting in any possition, wheather up in the trusses or just sheating the floor, x-walls or roof. Now the rigid has a little clip on it as you know..... I love it, you can hook it on to anything and you don't have to worry about get into small awkward places and the saw beeing in the way. You can place/hook it on something and then come back to it its great and its safer for your co-workers under you. I also love the current lights on the end of the cord. Well thats all. Talk to you next reveiw..... March 1, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, powerful, accurate and fun to use I took a long time to decide on this purchase. I was torn between the Mikita magnesium circular saw and Ridgid magnesium circular or this worm drive model. It seems all my hand power tools are either Mikita or Ridgid. Based on all comments I decided on the Ridgid worm drive and am not disappointed. It feels a little heavy but not when sawing. I find it very quiet compared to my previous circular saw and really nice to use. The first few cuts were rough till I got on to using a worm drive saw but I like the blade on the left of the saw and can see the line better. I was worried it may drop off at the end of small cuts with less of a base on the board but I have had no problems at all. This is my first worm drive and I love it. With Ridgids quality I will not have to buy another. November 5, 2012
