This is a high quality, professional vacuum. The kit comes with many additional attachments for various cleaning applications.
The vacuum has great suction and is very quiet. The unit rolls easily across many different surfaces. There is plenty of storage for all of the attachments, including the hose.
You can buy or use the 2-1/2" Rigid shop vacuum hose with this vacuum. The 2-1/2" Rigid shop vac hose fits onto this unit making it a large debris vacuum as well.
It is very easy to dump the debris from the vacuum and change the filter when required. All of Rigid shop vacuum filters work with this unit.
Very nice, professional vacuum.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RG Less suction than the standard 16ga vac WD1851
We have the Rigid 16ga model WD1851 at work and I was really impressed with it's suction power but I needed an attachment for vacuuming the floor. I was given the green light to pick out what I needed and I came across this model which comes with a floor attachment with a rigid metal tube. I thought perfect, it has twice the amperage with 2 stages so it should be even better! Wrong! I should have read the CFM rating, it is half the capacity at twice the price! Side by side with the WD1851 model this vac is a poor performer. Co-workers used it once and now I'm forbidden from any purchases. Unless there is a defect with this particular vac, get the cheaper WD1851.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by LEDEngineer Big capactiy but average suction
This vac is big and heavy, and has a good holding capacity. Even though it is all plastic, it seems solid and well built. However, it does not have the huge airflow of my other Husky 'plain old' shop vac. It won't pick up metal shavings very well, or typical stuff on my garage floor, and I basically have to stick the hose right over the objects I want to pick up. It does build up a higher vacuum if the flow is obstructed - for example if you stick your hand over the end, you can hear the motor ramp up and feel the suction increasing. That seems backwards to me - the motor should slow down if the flow is blocked, because that means you have an obstruction. If you accidentally suck up the corner of a rug, it pulls so hard after about 5 seconds that you have to shut the vac off to remove it.
It rolls easily on smooth floors. The front casters are oddly tiny and don't match the giant rear wheels. It doesn't roll over irregularities in the floor. With the basket loaded, most of the weight is over the rear wheels. If you try to pull the vac over a crack in the floor by tugging on the hose, it results in the whole vac tipping over backwards and spilling the contents of the basket, because the hose acts as a spring. It really needs larger front wheels.
The power switch is a huge rocker switch, and it's easy to use with even welding gloves, and it's right up front. The vac is pretty quiet; the thing that makes the noise more tolerable is the pitch - it has a muffled, lower sound, not the typical high pitched whine of most vacuums. It comes with an exhaust "muffler" but it is really a diffuser; it prevents a stream of air from shooting out and disrupting things halfway across the shop. It does not reduce noise. The motor exhaust is diverted down, and out the back, and does not cause any issues.
The included chrome plated wands look nice, but the chrome is already flaking off, and they are too small in diameter. They are difficult to insert and remove because the smooth metal sticks to the soft rubber hose coupling. The included 1-7/8 hose is great quality, but it restricts air flow, and the soft rubber end makes it difficult to use attachments. Plus the sizes are not standard. So I replaced all the included 1-7/8 hoses with 2-1/4 hoses and wands, which not only helped with airflow, but made using accessories easier since everything in that size is standard. Plus they are all hard plastic, and switching attachments is a breeze.
I've switched back to my 10 year old Husky 'plain old' shop vac for general use, it just works better, even though it's louder. I think this would be a good vac for things like sawdust and lighter stuff, but not anything like sand, dirt, etc. And it may be great as a wet vac, but I have not had an opportunity to use it in that capacity.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OutbackJoe Nice Vacuum, Wet Or Dry
This is a great vacuum, it has all the power that you would ever need in a shop type of vacuum. It moves a lot of air which is great for removing dust when attached to my band saw. There is very little that gets away. It's also very robust, everything is very well built and though out right down to the handle cord wrap combination.
It's easy to move from location to location even if it's filled with water. The vacuum has a valve on the bottom of the canister were the water drains. No need to ever pick this vacuum up when its full of water. Even taking this from floor to floor is easy; the large rear wheels really help when going up stairs. I tested the wet pickup ability with a full 5 gallon bucket of water. It empties the bucket in less than 10 seconds.
The vacuum has all the tools needed for picking up most everything. There is large area brush, a large area squeegee, small area vacuum head, small area brush crevasse tool, two chrome plated wand tubes and a ten foot hose.
The filter is nice and large so it just keeps on picking up everything that fits down the wand. The canister is so large that it takes a long time to fill even the bottom third.
Most shop type vacuums are very very noisy; this is so much quieter and leaves your ears much less fatigued.
This only small downside is its size. You will need an area to store this when its not being used. Other than that this is a great vacuum. Highly recommend!

Overall Very Good Wet Vac. I haven't had to use it much as it was bought specifically for floods that might occur at our Building. When I've had to use it it performed Very well and had plenty of power and capacity for the job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jbb49 The name says it all
I never imagined that I would use this vacuum as much as I have, but it is awesome. Like the name says, you can use it to clean up both liquids and dry materials. I'm renovating my house, and it has made cleaning up sawdust and small debris much easier. Before this, I had to use my regular vacuum cleaner (for which it isn't made) or get a broom and sweep to have to come back later and sweep again.
It's also great for cleaning up water. Recently, we had so much rain that the ground became saturated...and water came in my basement faster than I could sweep it to the drain. After the duh moment, I pulled out this vacuum, and it took care of the water in no time. What made it really great was that I just pushed the full tank over to the drain and unscrewed the plug at the bottom and let it empty down the drain to the sump pump. There was no lifting a heavy tank up the stairs although this does include larger wheels on the back along with a large handle to make it easier to move up stairs.
There are lots of attachments which is awesome, but only the fine dust filter is included. It states that this can be used with wet applications too, but I bought the separate filter.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PainterPete Commercial Grade- Excellent Features and Accessories
As in it name, it is a commercial quality wet/dry vacuum that has been well thought out and comes with the performance and accessories you would expect from Ridgid and the "commercial" designation. It has an easy roll "cart", removable accessory bag and exhaust muffler. While not "silent" it IS quiet compared to other vacuums I have had.
While some may look at it and say "Plastic" !, plastic does have many benefits compared to metal in commercial applications, especially wet applications. The plastic used here is strong and of good quality, Ridgid did use metal wands which is good and where you do need the strength of metal for such a vacuum.
I like the 16 gallon capacity and the suction strength is MORE then adequate (regardless of all the various numbers and rating criteria being used).
Rigid also offers several different filters for various dry and wet needs as well a vacuum bags for really fine "dust" pick up such a sheetrock, and cement dust (as two examples).
It comes with 10' hose, 2 metal wands, fine dust cartridge filter, floor nozzle with inserts for hard and soft floors as well as a squeegee tool. Also includes crevice tool, dusting brush, claw nozzle.
This is a high quality commercial grade vacuum worthy of the Ridgid name.
You won't be sorry purchasing this for you commercial or residential needs
