When will this model be available in stores?

Asked by: Anonymous
I don't work for either HD or Ridgid. Just a pro out here in the field putting these tools to the test everyday. My opinion is they won't make it available in stores basically because it's not gonna cut it. Way too overpriced for its inconsistent operation.

When will the new version be available?

Looking to buy a new nailer soon and would love to use battery packs from my Ridgid brand drills. I understand the discontinued version will be replaced with a new one....looking for a time frame of availability on the new version of the nailer.

Customer Reviews

18-Volt Brad Nailer Console Tool (Tool Only)-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light Very happy to get this tool. I am a carpenter by trade, use my tools daily. The Lifetime Warranty is a huge plus! (drivers , bumpers, O-rings) Nice carry case, safety glasses, nails and wrench included. The safety spring is light enough to eliminate any marking on soft wood. Other 18 ga nailers I have had left a mark on the wood at every nail, just shallow enough that it couldn't be filled. It's not a problem with this tool ! I haven't seen another gun that will shoot 2 1/8 in 18 ga nails either. The nail magazine is made of plastic, not sure if it would withstand a drop from a 10ft step ladder, but who drops their guns right? The Price is great. Ridgid is making a believer out of me. I am switching over to their tool line every time one of other brand tools wears out, simply because of their great warranty. I had a defective lithium battery on a drill, they replaced it free of charge and delivered it ( no shipping charge) to my doorstep.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but there are better out there for equal money. I'm a professional carpenter (12 years). I used this nailer 5-6 days a week, all day, for ~4 months. First, the good stuff. The ergonomics are quite good. Comfortable in the hand, well balanced, wield it all day without fatigue. The features are plentiful well thought out and easy to use. The clear magazine cover, swivelling belt hook, exhaust location, good tip design for high vis and accuracy, included swivel fitting, oil-less; all really good stuff and well executed. The lock out is also a great feature, but failed in the execution. It's annoying not being able to shoot the last 5 nails, and makes reloading cumbersome with the extra nails remaining in the magazine. I really wanted to like this nailer, but it falls short for me, in the action, there's a lack of refinement about it. It sounds and feels clumsy, as if it slaps the nail in rather than pressing the nail in. The violence of the piston is transferred to the user and to the work piece. You don't want to use this nailer on delicate pieces such as thin or smaller MDF mouldings. It can fracture and chip your work pieces. Decent, but there are better out there for equal money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product. Excellent Brad nailer, very easy to use and lightweight. As a mechanical contractor I don't have alot of experience with carpentry tools but I'm very pleased with this tool. Has never jammed or any other problems. Seems to be a quality tool at a good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good brad nailer I have used this brad nailer over the last several years. I have not had too many complaints... and would actually go to say that the only issues i have had with this product is by user error but i am a guy so i will not actually go that far. it is nice that it gives you wide range of brads you can use. the depth function is easy to use. and it also has the ability to be used in the bump fire mode or single shot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong and ligth Beside the fact that I nail myself in a 1 1/2" brad in my left leg by freaky accident of course, I still would recommend this tool anyway. I also purchased a compressor, a miter saw, and a table saw that I used for a completed renovation of my used house. I even paint my garage with the same orange color of your tools.
