I've had the drill since Dec. 2011 and used it for a major kitchen remodel. It has plenty of power, battery charges very fast and holds power for a long time, keyless clutch works well. The LED light is nicely aimed and very functional. Part of the reason I purchased Ridgid was for the lifetime warranty, but based on my experience, I have serious doubt about it's worth. I promptly sent in warranty information online, but 4 months later I haven't received any warranty registration acknowledgement. So, in summary, buy it because you like the tool, but don't buy it for the "lifetime warranty"', it's no better than any other tool warranty.

I bought the Ridgid combo and an additional charger with 2 batteries from Home Depot. Within a year of minimal use (3-4 times a week), 3 of the 4 batteries were dead and unable to charge. The drill was worthless from the beginning with intermittent operation. I ended up buying a second drill from Home Depot online and when it arrived and I tried to use it, the chuck assembly fell out of the drill. I am not sure if there was a screw missing or what the problem was.
It was then that I realized that what Ridgid used to mean quality but sadly this is not the case with their cordless tools and makes me wonder about their other product as well. I believe that you would be better off buying Dewalt or Bosch.

Bought this drill 2 years ago, had great power and functionality but I have yet to pull it out of the bag with a charge. I charged up both batteries, took them off the charger and set them on the bench, within 3 days both are completely dead. I took the drill, charger and batteries to a service center where they tested everything and said there was a bad "switch" in the drill. Took 9 weeks for them to fix it. I got it back and took it home, both batteries were dead, charged them up and squeeze the trigger, it spins half a revolution then stops dead, and the other battery reads defective on the charger.
I just bought a Dewalt... should have done it years ago.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jdschearer Good drill... if you register
I was happy with this drill for about 4 years, used it for a complete first floor remodel. The drill was slightly under-powered when drilling through 2x4s with a 1/2" bit and had a tendency to jam, but aside from that it was solid.
However, I found out the hard way that you HAVE to register it within 90 days with the Home Depot receipt, otherwise the lifetime battery replacement will not be honored. After 4 years both batteries were not taking a charge, and Ridgid customer service said there was nothing they could do after 3 years for an unregistered model.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CWSFAN getting lifetime service agreement validated.
It is most important to know and understand that you must send your lifetime service agreement via certified mail return receipt requested. to actually get the required written acknowledgement. After a prolonged runaround from Ridgid about no response on my first tool registration, I have proof that they received the required paperwork when I had the same problem with subsequent purchases. All of a sudden they find my paperwork, Beats them dealing with the US Postal Inspectors. I go thru this because I like their tools.

The product is great for females and young users. Very lightweight and easy to carry around for light household projects but yet powerful enough to do heavy duty project as well.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wabofiur Drill is fine, batteries are terrible
Drill works well. Plenty of torque and speed for any reasonable non-contractor-type use. The batteries are worthless. After only light use for a few months, and being placed on the charger intermittently during that time (Li-on battery chargers are supposed to maintain and condition the batteries), they would no longer take a charge at all. I've seen plenty of other comments to this effect elsewhere as well.

Compares favorably to my Makita Drill/Driver/Hammer Brushless. Drill is heavier than expected at this price point, which to me makes if feel sturdier.
