I Just recently purchased the 18 volt ridgid compact radio.I am a licensed plumber and use it at work. Most plumbers carry riidgid tools with them.I all ready had the batteries that came with my ridgid power tool combo kits,so I did not need to purchase them as an extra with the radio. The sound from the 1 speaker radio is very good, clear and perfect size so it doesn't take up much space in a tool box. A fully charged 18 volt ridgid battery will last the whole work day when I use it.A perfect compact radio with the ridgid reputation.A must add on for your ridgid tool collection.

I bought this radio about two years back when it was part of the larger kits and haven’t seen it since. I have to say, this is a nice little radio and it will suit most people’s needs. It is a single speaker set up and will accept an MP3 or IPod using the included cable. The reception is good and so is the sound quality. This radio is purely battery powered so there are no station presets since you will loose them when you disconnect the battery. But the tuning is pretty quick.
Now I also have the larger Ridgid radio and I honestly never use it because I keep grabbing this one when I want music while I work. (I am not a guy who really cranks the tunes when I work). This unit is small, easy to carry and store and just works well. Because it is a single speaker I can go the entire day on a single battery. I can store it in my rolling tool cabinet or in the tool bag compared to the larger version which takes up precious room on my workbench.
If you have been thinking about getting a battery powered radio and already own ridgid cordless tools, this is a great choice. Not to mention, with the weird weather we have all been experiencing the last year or so, this a cheap addition to your emergency go bag. Add in the ridigd work light and you have two great, practical purchases, ones you can easily justify getting.

I bought this to use my I-pod in my shop.. It works so well I use it in my work truck instead of earbuds.. The battery lasts for several days and has good volume for poolside use.. I dig it!!

This job site radio is perfect for use around my proberty due to its compact size, and it will play forever on the 18v battery. I didn't want a big boom box, and this little guy holds and plays my iPod securely. I have been very happy with Ridgid products over the years and this one is no different. Home Depot should have these in the stores and not just online.

I purchased this radio for my son. He has several Rigid tools. He 's quite happy with this radio. It's compact and durable, which is what he needs for his work. He is very impress with the sound quality, (even when the volume is high!!) Thanks Home Depot for making it easy for me to purchase.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by itsalex poor reception
Sound quality of the single speaker is OK, but the reception of the digital tuner is SUPER poor, MANY stations will not come in, & you'll have to hold it in different positions to get any signals.

I wasn't going to spend money on the large Ridgid radio because it doesn't charge the batteries even though you can plug it in, which I think is dumb. Didn't know about this little one that is conveniently sized and has plenty of volume and and aux input, the necessary features, without being unnecessarily bulky. Have only used it a couple of times at this point, but I've dropped it onto concrete and it is durable and still works. Reception is fine (digital tuning a plus).
