Customer Questions & Answers

I have an older Nicad 18v dril. Model R84001 that uses the battery pack part #130252001. Is there a Lithium-ion replacement.

Asked by: Porsche191
Hi Porsche191. Any of the Ridgid 18 volt lithium-ion batteries would work with this drill. You may also need to upgrade your charger. If you have an older NiCad charger it will not charge the lithium batteries. However, the newer charger can charge both NiCad and lithium. Thanks for the question.

do the lithium-ion batteries work on the first generation, 2ah, ridgid 18 volt tools?

I'm having trouble finding batteries for my 8 year old 18 volt drill and impact.
Asked by: TimdaFoolMan
It says they will work on all their 18volt tools. when I got mine I put it on my drill and it is better than t5he old batteries for sure. but then I found it would not release from the drill to recharge it. the lip on the battery the depress when you push in the the release buttons does not move the catch down as far as the old batteries did and you have to tilt the front up just enough to have it slid off. otherwise a much better battery than the originals were.

Customer Reviews

18-Volt Lithium-Ion Battery (2-Piece per Box) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from lasted less than 5 years with occasional use im not a professional, but like to tinker around. I bought combo set about 5 years ago, and the first battery died in about 2 years. the second stopped taking a charge in the last couple of months. I would have expected them to last longer. I have the lifetime warranty because they came with tools. I found this to not be worth the $100 for a replacement set of batteries. The warrantee is useless in my opinion. You dealers that home depot uses are useless and don't want to waste their time. I have found this very irritating. Not likely to buy rigid in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery not compatible w/ all chargers The description claims that these ridged batteries are compatible w/ all 18 volt tools and chargers. They only work w/ Lithium Ion chargers. I have an original NiCad charger, now I have to purchase a Lithium Ion charger to charge the batteries. That is another $50 for a charger. I could buy a new drill w/ 2 batteries for under $200. I think I'll pass and return these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was exactly what I was looking for White renovating an old church my batteries from my Ridgid Drill finally gave up the ghost. They were a replacement set and did not have the life time warrantee. The price is awsome and it is even better than the originals as these are higher capacity, and 2 batteries for the price is an outstanding deal. I received them quickly right to my door. The order was a great experience and will be ordering again. If you need replacement batteries for your Ridgid tools I’d pick these up before there gone. In Fact I think I will order another set.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not impressed with ridgid anymore I've had ridgid tools since they came out in 2003. In trying to fill out warranty papers I felt it was easier to give blood. As a matter of a fact even though the warranty papers have been filled out for over 3 weeks I have still not got the lifetime service agreement conclusion from ridgid yet and what's bad is I also purchased more than $1300.00 of other ridgid tools along with theses batteries. Will more than likely go with kobalt next time cause it's a lot cheaper. Why advertise a lifetime warranty only to have to wait a lifetime for warranty and support from ridgid?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ridgid quality batteries Great pair of batteries. Only thing missing compaired to some of the others is there is no press to indicate the power level on these. But I've had a pair of them now for about 6 months and seem to be great batteries so far. Sorry to see they have discontinued them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is great that I can use these new style in my older Ridgid tools Easy to find and order on line. Service not so good on shipping, I haven't received my batteries yet and am unable to use my drill. I had to use an older drill I don't like as well as my Ridgid.
