The angle adjustment stripped out, The battery overload will kick out very easily. Solve this by buying the best thin blade you can get and it works fine. Customer service is great for replacing bad parts.

I got the combo pack with 5 tools. love them all. Only problem I've had was with the skill saw, the blade depth and angle lever has stripped out. It's plastic. I hope for a more durable design in the future. I did call for replacement parts and got them in 3 days.

For the people who say this saw cant cut through a 2x4 you must be doing something wrong. With a fresh blade and a 1.5 amp/hour battery i was able to RIP 25feet of 2x4 on a single charge. I admit the blade that comes with the saw isnt great but when are they ever?my advise, if you havent returned it yet get a new blade and give it another shot.

I already have the 18V Ridgid drill/driver (that is excellent) so I thought adding this saw would be a good idea. Plus I already have a battery charger and two batteries. Before I used this saw, I bought an upgraded blade for 20 bucks. I made sure the battery was fully charged before using the tool.
I was really disappointed with its performance. The saw couldn't get through one 2x4 without stopping. I tried it on various pieces of wood both dry and not so dry, different sizes as well. Finally, I gave up and used my corded saw to complete the project. I'm not going to buy ANY battery powered saw in the future.
I returned the saw to HD and there was absolutely no hassle. I will continue to be a loyal customer of HD.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Tano Nice features, good saw
I bought this to upgrade my older Ridgid cordless which is honestly still going strong. The first difference I noticed is the blade placement, my old saw had the left hand blade, this version is the more traditional right hand blade. I personally had no issue with either version. The bevel adjustment has some nice presets and click into standard angles with a nice solid lever to lock it down. I found the on-off switch to be a bit more of a hassle, but just takes some getting used to.
I have not used this with the new x4 batteries, I run all of my tools with the larger X3 84008 batteries and have plenty of power and run time for all of my tools.
Overall this is a nice saw, but if your older model is still going strong, wait until it needs to be replaced before upgrading.
