Lifetime Warranty,difficult to do!

This question is from 18-Volt X4 Cordless Jig Saw Console

The last time I purchased a cordless drill from Home Depot, I tried endlessly for hours to fill out all information requested for my lifetime warranty, on line. Just when it looked like it worked, the next day I got an E-mail stating that I got some information wrong, and it did not go through. I was not happy. I tried it again and again and it would not work. I got frustrated and quit doing it. I know that I am an average person, and I have done many of these type of warranties before. My question is why do you make it so difficult to get a lifetime warranty? I have many Craftsman tools and it has NEVER been difficult to fill out warranty information needed for my life time tools. So all I have to say to any buyer is beware!!

I have a good experience with registering product. I simply went to the site stated on manual and put in Product, serial, and online order number. Next day I received an email stating it was accepted. Toughest part was inputting the serial number for every product purchase(jig saw and another package) but understandable.

Answer:
I agree! I have purchased 10-12 Rigid tools and have had several not register even though I "jumped through all the hoops" Rigid required. Nothing more frustrating than to try to get warranty when being told you didn't purchase the tool you have in your hand and have used for years. Rigid really needs to simplify the process.

Answer:
Yes it does. I have a set of Bosch T-Shank blades and bought the jig saw without knowing shank type because it's not listed online. The blade that comes in the package is T-shank, and the owners manual indicates T-shank only. I've used my bosch blades and it works

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 67 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I found the jig saw to be a lot heaver to handle than I thought, I also use it for projects with small kids. Also I used it one day , took the blade out stored it in bag, and the next day went to put the blade back in and it would only go in on an angle not letting it line up with the guide wheels. I will take it back to home depot and have them order me a new one ( because they do not carry them in the store ) and try again. If same problem occurs I will have to try another brand. Which would be a shame because I rave about your name to everyone. I own planners, table saws, chop saws , battery powered circular saws, 3 sets of the drill and driver sets, lights, sanders ( table top and portables, routers, clamps, etc..... with your product name on it. I thought this would be a no brainer. Also for the price of the tool alone you really should include a battery. October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk I am a general contractor and I own almost all the rigid cordless tools and I have been very happy with most of them. If this had been the first Ridgid tool I had bought I don't think I would ever buy another one. Blade is hard to install straight, saw does not track straight and the top speed is way to slow. October 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Strong and Ready To Work It's a nice jig saw with some nice features. Easy blade changes. It cuts a bit slower than corded ones but, the battery lasts a long time in it. Took a little getting used to the safety switch and now I hardl think about it. October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by returning it due to its performance I am a contractor and I buy mostly Ridgid tools for the quality and value. This jig saw was bought to cut out sink holes in countertops. I received this tool a day early for delivery. (Great). I then took it to the job site unpackaged it, registered it then plug a battery to it and found a test piece of wood. Used my speed square to line up my cut and bam! It would not cut a straight line. Vered to the right. Check my blade (brand new Bosch) and tried again. No Luck, goes to the right every time, I have to hold the jig saw at an angle to follow a line and that is a chore. Will return it soon. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Jigsaw! This has been a good saw for me, the blade is quick and easy to change, it has an orbital feature, the base is easy to adjust. It seems to have plenty of power the first time I used it was to cut 2" pressure treated wood while repairing the bottom of a hot tub I had bought and it cut the 2" pressure treated wood no sweat, it's got plenty of power and is easy to guide around curves and bends, it works much better than my corded jigsaw I haven't even use my corded jigsaw since I got this one! Best of all I know this is $120 bare tool, well I was cleaning out an abandoned rental unit of my mothers and found it there and the exterior was in good shape, of course there was no battery with it but since I already owned Ridgid 18 volt tools and had the needed batteries for it that was not an issue for me. Got it home cleaned it up a little, got some blades for it and it runs like a champ, been running strong for over 2 years now! One of the luckiest finds I've ever had lol! May 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great jig saw this saw is exactly what i was looking for in a jig saw. it is easy to handle and works great. l love it. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HD jigsaw Have been wanting a jigsaw for quite a while, looking for a long-term tool that will put up with abuse and works hard. Had just purchased the RIDGID drill set, so having extra batteries, as well as being another cordless tool, was a major PLUS. Have not used the jigsaw yet, but have projects lined up and anxious to get started. Will add other comments later. Jigsaw is solid and well made. NO COMPLAINTS. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT JIG SAW THIS SAW IS A GREAT VALUE AND YOU CAN DO ALOT OF WORK ON A SINGLE CHARGE. IT IS ALMOST READY TO USE OUT OF THE BOX AND COMES WITH ONE BLADE. August 17, 2016
