Batteries are covered with Ridgid's 3 year limited warranty. Only time Ridgid batteries will be covered with LSA when they come with tools as part of the combo set. Keep your receipt or register your battery at Ridgid website. Easy registration plus you dont have to mail anything in, just scan your receipts register and email them to ridgid. You will be updated within a couple hours.

Answer:
I have the 9.6 and 18V in my other tools, screwdriver 9.6v and drills 18V. I have used all these batteries in my radio, all seem to work fine. Also, the Lithium battery that came with my Radio is now being charged with my older charger and it charges 9.6 and 18v.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by died for no reason...replacement very costly. couple years old and seldom used...just decided not to take a charge. push button and one light comes on just to tease you. this is a known issue...lots of complaints online. Rigid does not seem to care March 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Radio,Best Battery,Fantastic Drill and Hammer drill I'm 61yrs old and through the years have owned or used many major brands of power tools. Your products have impressed me, as I am in the middle of constructing a 12'X50'ft deck and using only the ridged Drill and Hammer Drill to drive in all the assorted fasteners. The extra battery and free Radio just added to the pleasure I have in this project. The Drills and Batteries have opperated flawlessly and I would highly recomend these products to anyone. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Both batteries are dead Couple years old and both batteries are dead. Based on web search, this appears to be an ongoing issue that they do not addresss. Im guessing that they like the replacement battery revenue stream. Can you say planned obsolescence? August 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Second double failure I originally purchased a combo kit just to use at home due to the lower price . I won't mention the normal brand the I use but I'll simply say that I've gone through a total of four of rigid a lithium batteries. My normal brand has been beat up and used many times as long with no failures yet. The first rigid failure, I was lucky enough to run into a rep at HD and he gave me a free( by mail) third battery if I bought two. All these brands do the same basic function but some have more frequent failures. Almost forgot I was told that my last two were still under the warranty period now I only need a receipt!!!@? Thanks rigid Chiller Wayne UA local 250 April 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT ITEMS! Items are great but ridgid website wont let them to be registered you have to keep your receipt for service. I got my way to register the radio for LSA and battery for 3 years. I got them when they were on sale plus used coupon and both cost me $55 plus tax and free shipping! I purchased 6 of these online! I will give rest of the radios as Christmas gifts to my buddies! It wont register if you use the actual item# on pack but you can register battery and radio seperately. This is a buy battery get the radio free thing and people wishing LSA on battery are just basically daydreaming! Great items at unbeateble pricing. November 30, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by lifetime my butt. This battery seemed great for a short time. After a few months would only run down 1/4 of the way, I thought it was a fluke until it happened to a second battery. Then it happened to a third and about 7 months of not a lot of use they would not charge at all. I made the mistake of not registering the tools and was told since they were more than 30 days old there was nothing they could do. I love the tools, all of my Ridgid tools but the batteries in my opinion are junk. Wish they would just replace them with new, they say lifetime. If they would stand behind them like other brands they are the only brand I would buy. I have about 40+ battery tools and 6 different brands and for the tools themselves they are the best all around but the batteries themselves are junk. November 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I thought Ridgid stood for better quality than DeWalt but I was wrong Bought a Ridgid combo 18 Volt Drill and Impact set with charger and two batteries, one has failed, will not take a charge. These batteries are way costly, to buy a replacement, should have stayed with DeWalt, they stand behind quality. Totally disappointing. September 21, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great combo Works great and is compact enough. Since this battery was purchased as the main item, why is it not covered by the LSA. That was my main purpose for purchase, and also to use as a backup battery for my other tools. I am not happy that it is not included in the LSA, and would like an explanation. Had I known this, it would have probably have swayed my purchase. I am a firm believer in your LSA policy. December 20, 2012
