Do you have to own a compressor to make this work?

I am totally new to this. I want to install some molding in my house. I do not want to spend a ton of money on tools nor buy a compresor. Will this do the job? Also does the 2 1/8 size dictate the thickness of the trim I can use?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Power I got this on sale, at a great price 100 bucks. I went from the porter cable and glad, first off your getting 2 more amps of electrical power and 2 more years on your warranty for the same price......thats a no brainer,. If you can get one on sale great!!... but even at the reg. price its a better machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best I've ever owned... Except for 1 thing... By far the best 18 gage nailer I've ever owned or used. The magnesium body is tough and so light weight. Ridgid makes some outstanding tools. The ONLY issue I have with the design is the "dry fire lockout" feature. I don't know if my gun is defective or if they all do this- but my gun WILL NOT fire the last 5 nails on a sleeve. It will lock the trigger like the gun is empty. If you are a pro (like I am) who is firing hundreds of nails in a day, you just load another sleeve behind the remaining 5 from the last one and keep going. It's just a tad annoying but I'm used to it by now. I've had my gun for close to a year now and have fired well over 20k nails through it. It's a beast! Fires with almost no recoil, super quiet, and out of 20,000 shots I've only had 2-3 jams! pretty impressive! Again, GREAT gun... Just wondering if I'm the only one with a gun that won't fire the last 5 nails. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

After using this I will never go back to hammering. The job went so much faster and no nails to set. It was easier than I had imagined. I am well pleased!
