Customer Questions & Answers

A blinking light on your Model # : AW62629, 2' multi-outlet cord is an indication of what?

Lately we have found that the light on the cord that we bought last year is blinking intermittently. My wife is afraid to leave it plugged in. I am hoping that it is some kind of indicator that we can learn to ignore when it happens.

I bought this cord about a year ago and now the contacts on the inside are so loose that connections fail with the slightest movement. Is this product covered under warranty and what process should I undergo to get a replacement?

Customer Reviews

2 ft. 12/3 Extension Cord is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor connection. Not Heavy Duty. I use this to connect 2 self powered speakers and a mixer. Sodently one of my speakers stop working. After a carefull inspection I noticed arching at the connector where the speaker was plugged in. I changed to other multiplug and problem solved. I could not believe that a well known manufacturer as RIGID will allow such a poor quality product in to the market. My connector never saw heavy duty use. It was used 3 times indoors with a sound system that demands small power compared to heavy duty tools. I will not recommend this product. If I get a replacement it will be exactly the same product that I have. I wasted my money and my trust in RIGID brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cord does carry warranty I was surprised by the number of negative reviews for something that has the Ridgid name. I just bought this 3-prong cord and will report on its longevity after I use it a bit (if I remember to). However, I wanted to correct something in another review. The cord I bought states on the package that it has a full lifetime warranty against material defects and workmanship.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible, looks Heavy Duty, reality its not Looks heavy duty bought with my 10 gauge extension cord. like everyone else says, the contact points are utterly tiny, and have no tension, think the tip of a flat screw driver is all there is, cheap 1 dollar extensions have more contact surface to be honest. Cords are falling out after only 1 year and i get arching inside when using high power. HORRIBLE design. I'm not even replacing it with their warranty the design sucks way too much

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Short Power Just the right size for what I needed. Well made, sturdy. I like that it lights when power runs through it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't stay connected. I'm very disappointed in the purchase of this product. I had a choice between buying a cheaper one at the store and I wish I had. I figured that you get what you pay for so bought the expensive one. I noticed immediately that my table saw doesn't want to power on and soon as the plug is moved you tools are disconnected. The only thing I would recommend with using this product is using electrical tape to keep your tools connected but for me that's more hassle then I want to deal with. I think I'm going to be avoiding the rigid brand for awhile on future tool purchases. You would think quality control would of overlooked this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not hold up under cold conditions I used this extension cord for several months out in my carport where weather temperatures varied from 40 degrees to Zero. The cord failed at the three way plug it and from what I could see started arching inside the clear plastic covering to the point that it began to smoke. I found that the tools plugged into the unit fit snug and was satisfied with the product until it failed on its own. Because I got such a short life span of use for the tool I would not recommend it to anyone for purchase. In addition, Rigid does not warranty this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good ... NOT!!! This multi-head extension cord looks well built cosmetically but the contact surface in the female end is so small and weak that anything plugged into will lose contact with the sligttest movement. Do not buy this item!!!
