Answer:
You get a kind of sewn-up bag; no case. I don't know how well this case will perform in a construction environment. It has a strap and is well made.

This nailer is for round head plastic collated nails only. If you are looking for a finish nailer I would suggest one of the 16 gauge finish nailers listed below. For best results, be sure to use galvanized or stainless nails for your exterior application.

This nail gun is not capable of using finish nails. Take a look at a 15ga or 18ga finish nail guns. There are many brands available. Length of nails depends on the type of materials to be fastened.

No. There is no way to precisely hit the hole in the simpson tie. Look at Bostitch. They have two excellent units that will.

No, you need a nailer with a hole finder. There is one out there somewhere, Simpson does sell collated nails. I really wish I could, I've got a bucketful to put up.
By the way this is a great nailer!!

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in RIDGID!
The RIDGID R350RHE is not really designed to be used in that application, since there is not a way to accurately and repetitively place the nail guns nail position on the holes that are provided in Simpson ties, prior to firing.

RIDGID

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 120 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great gun Better than the passcode and hitachi I have used in the past. Very light, fast and quite. The only concern I have is the sparks coming from the nails as I shoot them into the wood. Other than I have not had any issues. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RIDGID Framing Nailer I bought this nail gun to help speed up my projects and I am extremely pleased with this tool, I have many ridgid tools because I know that it is a reliable brand but when it comes to air guns I've always known that Hitachi IS THE BEST because the roofing company i work for has tried other brands like DeWalt, Senco, etc and Hitachi is always the most reliable and best functioning but this ridgid is just as fast, reliable, and it is $120 less than Hitachi plus much lighter in weight so yeah, it's a great tool and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a framing nailer and doesn't want to pay $300 or more than ridgid all the way August 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not buy 1 star given because 0 is not an option. Shot about 20 nails and stopped working. Air leakage from middle area. Hopefully HD will return. Should have read the reviews. October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Framing nailer Did alright for my roofing job. It was odd how it jammed one time. I was low on nails, but not that low. It wouldn't shoot until completely refilled the mag. But I love the grip. The depth adjustment is nice to have. And the swivel for the air connect is wonderful. October 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A few setbacks, but good value overall I purchased this gun for a fencing job and have shot roughly 1,000 nails through it so far. The first few hundred nails went smoothly, so I picked up the pace and began having problems. The gun dry fired, nails were shot out 2 at a time, nails bent in the chamber, and caught on the little black door. The gun jammed roughly 20 different times. Turns out that the little black access door (I call it the jam clearing door) does not close tight enough so the nail heads can catch on this door and go haywire. Here's my tip - shoot slowly!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A good tool for the job. I am in the process of doing a closet remodel. Part of the remodel is putting backer boards between the upright studs in the closet. For this, I needed a framing nail gun. I selected Ridgid as I have had good results with Ridgid tools in the past. I also like Ridgid's lifetime tool warranty. I am NOT an "expert" with this tool. In fact, I had to find a video to show me how to load the nails in it. That being said, once I got the gun loaded and connected to the compressor, it worked like a charm! I shot a couple of test nails in some scrap 2x4, then got to work. The nail gun felt natural in my hand and was easy to use. Some reviews have complained about nails getting jammed. I didn't have a single jam. I highly recommend this nail gun for framing work. January 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Had a Porter Cable, but got a Ridgid this time and the men on the job all said that it was a much better nailer than what they had before. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful framing nailer Replaced old Porter Cable gun and this is much better August 24, 2016
