I bought this nail gun to help speed up my projects and I am extremely pleased with this tool, I have many ridgid tools because I know that it is a reliable brand but when it comes to air guns I've always known that Hitachi IS THE BEST because the roofing company i work for has tried other brands like DeWalt, Senco, etc and Hitachi is always the most reliable and best functioning but this ridgid is just as fast, reliable, and it is $120 less than Hitachi plus much lighter in weight so yeah, it's a great tool and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a framing nailer and doesn't want to pay $300 or more than ridgid all the way

Had a Porter Cable, but got a Ridgid this time and the men on the job all said that it was a much better nailer than what they had before.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by redbull88 A few setbacks, but good value overall
I purchased this gun for a fencing job and have shot roughly 1,000 nails through it so far. The first few hundred nails went smoothly, so I picked up the pace and began having problems. The gun dry fired, nails were shot out 2 at a time, nails bent in the chamber, and caught on the little black door. The gun jammed roughly 20 different times. Turns out that the little black access door (I call it the jam clearing door) does not close tight enough so the nail heads can catch on this door and go haywire.
Here's my tip - shoot slowly!!

I am in the process of doing a closet remodel. Part of the remodel is putting backer boards between the upright studs in the closet. For this, I needed a framing nail gun. I selected Ridgid as I have had good results with Ridgid tools in the past. I also like Ridgid's lifetime tool warranty. I am NOT an "expert" with this tool. In fact, I had to find a video to show me how to load the nails in it. That being said, once I got the gun loaded and connected to the compressor, it worked like a charm! I shot a couple of test nails in some scrap 2x4, then got to work. The nail gun felt natural in my hand and was easy to use. Some reviews have complained about nails getting jammed. I didn't have a single jam. I highly recommend this nail gun for framing work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Delphigto Best framing nailer I have used
I had a old one that quit working on me and decided to buy a new ridged. This nailer for its size is light and easy to use. I've always had great luck with ridged.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stevo Good for the occasional shed not for full time framing
For the price Senco hitachi or porter cable is a better buy, unless you will use 1-2 times a year. Lighter option but you can feel the difference in the other guns

So far, so good. Yes it is heavy, but it is a framing nailer, never had one that was light. It is sturdy and well put together. It shoots nails very well and I have tried numerous brands and lengths. The nails used were standard universal spaced to fit all guns. I would like to see some cases offered, but there are no manufactures that provide those no matter what brand you purchase. I was a little offended when it quit shooting nails, however I forgot that it will do that as a safety when U are low. All in all, a nice product for what U get .......................
