how it works?? have one but no instructions....

Hello jer! This simple tool is very handy when you remove a round part, like a shower head, from a threaded tube. Near the tip is a release that allows the strap to slide ... making the loop larger. Release the strap and enlarge the loop until it fits around the outside of the shower head. Pull the strap until the loop tightens against the shower head. Then as you turn the handle, the loop will cinch against the side of the shower head and loosen the head. Reverse the wrench to tighten. Auto mechanics use this style wrench to change oil filters. One main benefit is the strap tends to bite without scratching the surface, while a metal wrenches or pliers often scratch the surface.

3-1/2 in. No.2 Strap Wrench is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy to set up and use. As a licensed plumber and being in the trade for 26 years I have found the above strap wrench to be a life saver for getting jammed cover flanges off tap spindles without scratching the painted or chromed finish on the taps while servicing. Give it a try it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A versatile tool I own several of these wrenches and have found them to be invaluable for many applications. I use them on chrome plated fixtures and pipes, electrical light fixtures, tight jar caps, engine oil get the picture. Needless to say, I have them in the kitchen, the workshop, the garage and my toolbox. Just a useful tool that's limited by your imagination.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes Some Practice This wrench is a great idea and generally works pretty well. However, even a competent person needs a bit of practice to get the wrench to work, particularly in unusual situations involving odd shaped or slick parts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work for me Bought it specifically to remove the shower head pipe coming out of the wall (as pictured on the package). Strap would never grip the pipe, only slip. It did do a good job of polishing the chrome though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from rigid strap wrench Hey Rigid, how about putting a 1/2" square drive hole in the end so it can be used with a torque wrench? The old hang up nail hole works in the barn, but a square hole would fit that nail too!
