Works as advertised, flares Stainless Steel Tubing to a suitable AN 37 degree flare. Used it to make a custom clutch line on my car, so far the flares have held up to between 1000-1500 psi with no issue (depending how fast the clutch is thrown out).

If you have ever worked with AN fittings and wanted to use hard lines instead of braided hose, this tool should be in your tool box. Easily creates the required 37 degree flares required for AN nuts and sleeves. I modified the existing solid fuel line on my vehicle in less than 10 minutes to a propper leak free AN fitting. I am simply amazed that this tool is not caried by any local auto parts stores, i realize 45 degree flares for many other applications, but for AN fittings you need to have 37 degree flares.

Great price from homedepot.com fast shipping excellent product. I purchased the Ridgid Tool to flare fuel lines for AN fittings. Very easy tool to use. The way it is designed insures that just enough tubing sticks out of flare bar for uniform flares. Do yourself a favor and buy this quality tool for your AN fitting flares.

Will not produce an SAE acceptable flare on 3/16 x0.028 wall 316 annealed Stainless tubing. The flare diameter was repeatedly only 0.203 instead of the required 0.302". This was the same no matter how much tube was extended beyond the flaring bar surface. Checking the removed failed tube from the T63-A-700 gas turbine engine showed the diameter of the flare on the tube being replaced was indeed 0.302".

This is one of the most inexpensive tools that actually works perfectly. If you buy one of the $20 tools they are just total junk but this one works great for the money. No problems!!
