This angle grinder is powerful and easy to use especially with its slim grip. It has minimal vibrations to the user during long periods of use. The only problem I have with this grinder is the 2 prong electrical cord will not stay in any wall outlets I put it in. The only way I am able to use this tool is to plug it into an extension cord and tie the extension cord and tools cord together with a knot or electrical tape. This needs to be improved, I am dissatisfied with this product for this reason.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kennethk I've had this for a few years now
Well its been a few years and this is a fantastic tool - used to help on all our farm equipment - cutting, grinding and sharpening
its comfortable to hold for long periods, does not over heat, and has a nice shield design - easy to move while working.

As a service plumber I have used several different grinders. Makita/dewalt/Craftman. I Didn't like the way they handled. Until
A client recommend the ridgid grinder. So, I purchased it use it and I can say it's much easier to cut (Cast Iron , Clay Pipe, and Concrete!.

Worked great for a little over a year. Was satisfied until the rear bearing came apart, heated up and melted the plastic housing. Usage was intermittent. No where near what the useful life should have been. Brushes were hardly worn. Very disappointed in the life span. Also the motor vents blow hot air on the hand holding the device.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by welder Could be better
I own a welding shop and buy a lot of grinders. This is the third paddle / trigger switch grinder I have purchased and am trying this week.
Balance takes a little getting used to. , Trigger lock is annoying to get used to but you develop techniques. Thick welders gloves are a problem though. Other than that, it is a decent grinder.
Now, we'll see how well it performs after a bunch of heavy grinding days. A good grinder should last years. I have a 20 year old small paddle switch grinder that I am very pleased with because of it's longevity, design, performance, durability and reliability so I know a good grinder is possible.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by AverageGuy Some nice features, bad execution
I generally find Ridgid tools to be a good compromise between quality and price. This grinder is a disappointment. While the size and location of the grip allow for ergonomic use, the trigger is impossible to use with one hand in some orientations. The trigger is difficult to use (especially lock button) and it is prone to jamming when grinding dusty material (even with air cleaning after each use). The small diameter handle is convenient, but in some orientations very hot air is blown out the vents directly on to my hand. So, hot than I have to stop grinding. It would be nice for the design engineers to take some field time with their products before putting them out.
