First off, I don't have any issues with this vacuum whatsoever!
The vacuum was ordered on the Home Depot website, and the box arrived without any damage.
The instructions for mounting / installing the vacuum on the wall were very straightforward, and easy to understand.
The vacuum mounts unto a thick plastic mounting plate. The mounting plate has 4 screw holes running vertically.
To mount the vacuum, you position the mounting plate no higher than 5 feet from the floor, and close to an electrical outlet. Position the mounting plate so the screw holes line up with a wall stud. Place a level on the mounting plate, mark your 4 holes, drill each hole with a 1/8" drill bit, put the mounting plate back against the wall, insert your first screw, check level again, and screw in the remaining screws...That's it!
The vacuum unit slides into the mounting plate, and clips. Once installed, it's very sturdy. I don't really see any reason to think it would fall off the wall...It's very secure.
As far as power / suction goes, I didn't find it any less powerful than the 5 HP wet dry vacuum I have that rolls around. The suction is as strong.
I bought this vacuum because it was a pain maneuvering the standard size 5 HP wet dry vacuum I already have around the garage when the cars are parked inside. Having this mounted on the wall totally eliminates the hassle of moving around in tight spaces. The hose is long enough to easily vacuum out the cars.
It has a 7 foot collapsible hose, and a regular 14 foot hose. If either of those are not long enough for you, joining them together will then give you a hose of 21 feet in length. If that's not long enough, you can remove the vacuum from the wall by simply depressing the latch, and pull the vacuum up out of the mounting plate. Doing this will then give you the additional length of the 20 foot cord...So now your talking 40 feet.
The bottom line for me, is this vacuum is exactly what I've been looking for to eliminate what was a pain trying to do anything with the vacuum I had, in my garage when the cars where in it.
Very pleased with my purchase. Home Depot even threw in a LED lighted hose wand.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Good intermediate level tool, competatively priced, very usefull
Decided on this unit over the 4.5 gal rigid "toolbox" style shopvac, because the price was the same, yet this has better CFM numbers, and while not as compact, this one still leverages a compact rectangular shape. Pros: full range of accessories, handy external hang on accessory tote, nice long cord and hose, powerful, good rocker on off switch, and of course the hanging dock that lets you put it up on the wall if you are so inclined. The only con to me is the secondary "pull along" hose, is too short to use comfortably with both wands while standing to vacuum, it should be about another foot long, but for use with one wand, crawling around on the floor, or cleaning out the car, should be fine. Would be nice if they had a wheel dolly available, and stocked this vacuum in the stores. The free shipping and delivery 3 days ahead of schedule mostly made up for that. A word of caution that the vacuum comes in a box without any internal cushioning of protective cardboard barriers, so make sure your UPS driver does not toss it over the fence if you are not home, as damage will surely result. If this does not die prematurely, I will feel I made a good purchase here, and even there it has a very good warranty. Country of origin could not be found anywhere, but the manual is printed in Mexico, so perhaps it's made there, so in a era of traditional US name brands being Chinese manufactured, not bad.

Ridgid ..Quality product & quality Company
I have a Ridgid shop vacuum that hangs on the wall. It quit working so I called Ridgid. No problem return it and they would fix or replace. Gave me a number and instruction. Took vacuum back to Home Depot and they returned it. Within two weeks I had a new vacuum. I've had a number of shop vacuums and usually the hose will split. Ridgid has a wonderful flexible hose that will hold up and has great length and I love the ability to hang on the wall. I would highly recommend Ridgid products as they stand behind their product and customer service is exceptional
Thanks to Larry at the Bellingham store for his assistance.

I bought this when it first came out which must be at least 10 years ago. I use it for household projects, cleaning the cars, etc. Relatively small footprint. Good cord length. EXCELLENT suction. Uses a somewhat expensive Ridgid filter. I change the filters about every 2-3 years, and it's easy. I don't use the long hose much. It's too inflexible. I'd rather carry the vac with me than wrestle with that hose. Decent tool assortment. They now carry the 1 7/8" accessories in the stores, and I bought the floor brush recently. I really like the tool caddy, but it should have some sort of latch to keep it from inadvertently getting knocked off. Anything in the garage that hangs on the wall off the floor has my vote. As a consequence of that, the divertable exhaust is on the front. Takes a little getting used to, but isn't much of a bother. I was chronically aggravated by the lack of wheels on the bottom. I had to pick up and move the vac whenever I ran out of hose. Gets old fast. However I recently discovered that there were molded holes for 5/16" stem casters on the bottom. Paid ~$5 for a set of four at HD. Now it follows me wherever I go, and I'm happy. If the quality is still the same, I would easily but this again.
