Thank you for your inquiry in our 50 ft. 12/3 SJTW Extension Cord with Lighted Plug. The rating for this cord is adequate. Running a window air conditioner on an extension cord for an extended period of time is not recommended. Extension cords are temporary use devices hence the name “service cord”. Local codes may prohibit the use of an extension as a mean to power devices for an extended period of time inside a building. Due to the nature of an extension cord temporary power purpose, there is also a risk a cord end may become separated from its mate. You will also need to make sure that any excess cord is laid out flat and not coiled up. This can melt the jacket and may create a fire hazard if left unattended. Read Less
