A lot of reviews a bad on this sander, but the 2610 was great. Have these problems been taken care of. Thanks Chris

I look at a lot of reviews both good and bad. It just seems like those with problems had the same thing wrong. I love ridgid tools and was just wondering. Thanks chris.

I sanded about 150 sq. ft. of oak flooring with this sander and it worked very well - much more aggressive than my 5" Ridgid. The trigger lock is a bit difficult to engage but otherwise I had no complaints. You'll want to hook it to a shop vac for large jobs like I did. The dust bag works well but is quickly overwhelmed when you're hogging old finish with 40 grit discs.

After reading reviews realize some people should not write them nor even own the tool. This is not a floor sander, or a grinder, or a drum sander. It Is however a kicked up finish sander capable of removing tremendous amounts wood with the proper sanding disks and settings. It is comfortable to use, easy to set up, and can be attached to shop vacs or dust collectors. Have used over a year on hundreds of board feet of different woods with no problems. Always use good quality sanding disks, (change often) and clean sanding pad when changing disks. Treat tools with care, use as intended and you should get good results and good life of tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for floors and open surfaces Used as an edge sander for floor and final sanding for table tops and this works perfectly. The ability to switch between rough and finer orbital motion is great. Great vibration pads to prevent your hands from going numb. Two annoying pieces is the trigger is a bit soft so it takes a bit longer expectation to turn on and will sometimes turn off if you've been sanding for a while and your finger loosens off the grip. The second problem is that the switch between the fine and rough orbit and the always on button are very close to each other and it is in the way for holding

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my R2611 sander. It has proven to perform very well and is very rugged. I purchased my R26111 sander about 15 years ago. I have used it for many many hours for extended periods of time. The pad did come apart last year but after all the hours of use that did not surprise me. I have never had a problem finding various grit 6" disks from 40 to 1500 grit. I was bummed today when the bolt that connects the motor to the pad sheared off but nothing lasts forever. I would like to get the part and repair the sander if I can figure out how to get the broken bolt out. I would expect to get a few more hundred/thousand hours out of it.

I already own the 5" sander, which is also a great sander, but I needed the extra width to sand the 6" (5 1/2") signs that I make. It is well balanced and produces little vibration. I like the variable sanding speeds, and when I connect my shop vacuum (which will be a RIdgid when this one dies) there is very little if any dust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this sander. I highly recomend this sander. I read the reviews and was skeptical. Best sander i own. No issues with a 1 1/4 air hose hooking up and dust collection is top notch. Compared to a dewalt that you have to pay $20 for a special connection for dust collection or even Festool if you feel like paying $400 for a sander.

The painted surface was mildewed and weathered. The 6inch sander worked pretty well, but could use a little more power when I pushed down heavily on rough surface. I was using coarse grit discs. Sander is comfortable to use.
