This really works. I had to grind down the high spots on a very rough concrete basement floor in preparation for installing some vinyl flooring. This grinding wheel took them down very quickly. But there are several caveats: 1) It makes a LOT OF DUST -- in a hurry. You really need to use it with an attached dust shield connected to a strong vacuum source like a powerful shop vac. 2) Even with the vacuum attached, you need to wear a dust mask/respirator, particularly if you are working indoors. 3) Be sure to keep it moving. If you don't, it will make half moon shaped gouges in the surface. 4) The fine dust that this wheel produces can quickly plug the filter in the shop vac. I found that I had to stop and clean the filter in the shop vac often. When I didn't the room (and the house) quickly filled with dust. Bottom line is that it does the job and does it quickly, but be sure to take appropriate precautions for your health.

I used this along with a newly purchased Makita15 Amp 7 in. Corded Angle Grinder. This wheel cleared 900 square ft of glued down splintered wood on concrete and also mortor after removing kitchen tile. It Breezed through the mortor.
I also tried a 4" Rigid grinder with a sanding disc and several drill attached wire brush items. Nothing does the job like this set up. Save extra trips and money and get this first.
Read my review on the above mentioned Grinder for more information on my project.

For the price, this is a good blade. I used it for about 4 hours of grinding.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kapi02 used to grind my basement floor
I went trough 5 of those wheels to get my floor some what leveled. I had to remove some existing bumps and poured self leveling in places where I did not need it. Also my floor in some places was sloping up so i needed to remove almost 1/2 inch of concrete. Please note that this wheel will take new concrete much faster than poured slab (stone mix). So performance of this wheel is not so great if you need to grind stone. I had to cover up to 200 sq feet so needed 5 wheels to do it.,...wish they were less expensive....
Use it with powerful (15 amp) grinder and dust shroud.

The disc chewed concrete pretty fast and it surprised me that it did not receive higher ratings. I only had a small area to do so it worked out fine.

The wheel performed very well. It cut through the carpet backing and adhesive very well and quickly. On the second half of the concrete basement floor I had removed 12"X12" adhesive back tile. The wheel cut through that adhesive as well. The only problem encountered was the overwhelming amount of cement dust that it created. That was to be expected. I used a Dustie Shroud and shop vac that lasted 3/4 of the way around the outside edge of the room before it was eaten up by running the wheel up to the wall base to get the adhesive that was up against the cinder block wall.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Banjo Did what I asked it to.
Was torn between this 12-segment wheel or to spend nearly double for the 24-segment one. Needed it for only one job (grinding the edge of a five-inch slab step-down flush so I could glue oak base molding to it). Opted for the less expensive 12-segment wheel since it was only for one project. Wasn't at all disappointed. Made quick work of the concrete, and was accurate, easy to install, and easily controllable on my DeWalt 7-inch grinder. Next time I'll use a dust shroud; grinding concrete is always messy. Would recommend the wheel for purchase.
