The saw vacuum system did contain 75-80% of the airborne cement dust while cross cutting and ripping with the tool.
Would be better if the blade housing would allow viewing of the blade to make scribe cutting more accurate when vewing the tool from left of the blade.
Should be sold with an option to purchase a durable soft case to contain and store all the accessories.
Also the shoe should be adjustable so the blade doesn't cut deep into sacrificial supporting wood on work surface.

I bought the saw to reside my new shop. Having the dust pickup really reduced the amount of cement dust in the air. Some does escape so you still need to wear a mask, but its a lot better than using a regular saw.
The only gripe is blades dont last all that long. That's just how it is when you are cutting cement board with a carbide blade.

I've done a number of siding jobs with this saw and the dust vacum system is great. Just tried using it with a 4 inch dry diamond blade to cut 1/2 granite countertop and it also worked great. cut down stone dust also.

Me: obsessive/compulsive do-it-yourselfer. Bought the saw to replace the siding on my house. I have seen fiber-cement products cut with conventional saws and witnessed clouds of dirty, nasty, very unhealthy dust. This saw captures almost all the dust. I am very, very impressed. The saw also handles well, is quite light compared to my regular circular saw, the blade angle adjustment is user friendly and the saw is easy to use with a straight edge guide. I like it. I have one unanswered question: does the store carry replacement blades or will I have to find a supplier on-line? I'll cross that bridge when I come to the river. Summary: good tool.

This unit is great. It cuts well and does what it says in collecting a lot of dust (in fact most of the dust is collected). It cuts straight and is light so very little fatigue. The hose length is adequate.
The negatives are the blade is small so it dulls quickly. The supplied blade dulled after only doing half a house with Hardie board.however after putting on a frued blade the saw kept going well For 4 houses with a lot of cuts and rips Of the Cement Board.
One other thing is the noise level. It is very loud. Ear muffs are necessary don't cut without them It will leave with a ringing That is worse than a nagging partner.
Get the saw, put on ear protection, cut upwind... and you'll be very happy.

My wife and I are using 1/2 inch concrete Hardiboard to lay porcelain tile over about 1100 sq feet in our home. Prior to getting the saw, we were scoring the concrete boards multiple times and snapping them for cuts. For small openings such as vents we had to score an "X" over the area and use a hammer to break the board. All of these techniques are very difficult and time consuming when using 1/2 inch concrete boards. Also this technique left less than desirable results sometimes. From the moment we got the saw, all of the headaches disappeared. This little saw cut through these boards cleanly and quickly. Cut outs are a breeze. Setting the saw up is quick and easy. What would have taken us a day or more to do now only takes a few hours. The dust collection feature is nice. It captures about 85-90% of the dust. This is the best 169.00 I've spent on a tool in a long time! If you are doing a job with this type of material you need this saw!

I have cut cement boards before using a 7 1/4" cir saw and the dust was all over the place. On me, in the air and all around the work area. I wore a respirator and made others ware one also for safety reasons. With this new saw, I cut hardie cement siding and trim on a 2700 square foot tri-level exterior. I was please with its performance. Cutting this much cement boards and trim I used 4 cement blades which aren't cheap.
The only thing I would like to see added to this product is a way to keep the vacumn bag and bucket upright as I moved around cutting different angles on 8, 9, and 10 foot sheets.
