CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by The engine is terrible The pump and all of the fittings work great but the engine is terrible. It is harder to start than the old Honda motor, this might also be the reason the pull cord breaks every 2 or 3 months. Now its leaking gas and wont run longer then 5 minutes 6 months into owning it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great little workhorse This compressor is relatively easy to maneuver around, starts very easily, runs reliably. Its 8-gallon capacity is a bit low for high-flow operations, but the engine keeps up with demand without a problem except that it runs pretty constantly. The engine controls are a bit hard to reach due to the very compact design; you will want to have a long shanked screwdriver handy to get to them when the thing is hot. The owner's manual refers you to the supposedly included engine manufacturer's manual for the Subaru engine, but no such manual (or warranty information) comes with the product. Also, the compressor motor calls for 40-weight compressor oil, which is nearly impossible to find. However it seems to run well on 30-weight or multiweight oil. All in all, a very handy device for those who need air on a job site. August 23, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Great concept but.... It's a horrible machine to start in the cold. Takes about 30-45 minutes to get it going. That's a lot of pulls, and as a result the pull cord is becoming frayed after 2 days of use. That's going to be a nightmare as I'll have to disassemble the whole machine to replace the cord. The choke is difficult to reach and requires you bend down or stretch over since the pull cord is a left handed pull and you have to stand away from the choke to pull the cord. I blow out sprinkler systems and this machine is by far the worst I've owned in regards to getting anything done. Each job site is a chore to get going. I'm taking this back and buying the more expensive honda's because this is just too much. October 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smart design, great performance This is by far one of the easyest wheelbarrow style compressors I have ever handled. The 14" neverflat wheel is great. It also offers the perfect pressure cycle. It pressures up to a full 145 PSI and drops to idle. When air is used it will cut in at 120 PSI to cycle back up. Since I often use heavy pressure for tough framing apps ( 115 PSI ) , I can use this unit without a drop in driving power. Due to its compact design the fuel shut off and choke is hard to get to but I can live with that. December 10, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Compressor I've owned I had this compressor less than two months and it leaks fuel then just locked up. It takes two weeks just get a diagnosis of the problem then a week or two more to get it fixed. This is the worst Ridgid tool I have owned I wish I didn't waste my time with it. August 15, 2014
