Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't fit The description states that this attachment fits 2 1/2" hoses but it doesn't fit mine at all. I have a Rigid vacuum and this is a Rigid attachment but it doesn't fit the extension wand at all. It will fit inside the hose but that'll kill your back after a while. I just measured it and the adapter is only 2". I'm returning it. Maybe mine came with the wrong adapter?? In looks like a good product but I can't recommend it because it didn't fit a Rigid vacuum. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ridgid wet/dry vac Floor Carpet Nozzle So far good (just purchased) from Home Depot. It does a good job on carpet (low pile) June 26, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for really nasty carpets. I have used this with my Ridgid WD 1450 for two years. I clean carpets for a living, and have learned the hard way that a residential vacuum cleaner, even the expensive ones, choke and die on really bad carpets. I clean really nasty carpets for an apartment complex; we're talking heavy debris, long hair, pet hair, dried bodily fluids, basically the worst things you can imagine. No traditional vacuum cleaner would be able to hold up for long vacuuming up the junk that this attachment enables you to get. A regular wet dry nozzle (the ones that are usually packed with a WD vac) has way too much suction, but this attachment reduces the amount so it is much easier to maneuver. If it had a turbo brush (air powered) the brush would constantly clog with debris and hairs and need frequent cleaning to work, so in this case no brush is a huge benefit. It cleans well if you take shorter strokes and from multiple directions, this technique will help agitate the carpet as a rotating brush would do on a more traditional vacuum. It works well enough that you can even vacuum really nice carpeting with it, although it requires a lot more effort then most vacuums do. It also has the added benefit of being able to vacuum wet and dry areas with no need to worry about damage to the WD vacuum (remember to remove dry filter for excessively wet areas, I'm talking about damp carpet here). The motor on the WD vac will work harder with this attachment, but you simply need to keep this in mind and lift the nozzle up periodically to allow cooler air to be sucked into the motor...feel the top of the vac to see if it feels too hot once in a while. You'll be impressed with the amount of hair and fine dirt this attachment gets off carpeting, just check in the tank after a few minutes and usually you'll find big wads of nasty stuff. Keep a close eye on your filters as well because the fine silt like dust in most used carpeting goes straight to the filter and adds to the heating up up the motor. I have used this attachment a lot, and it has held up well. The little red strips glued to the bottom that help it grab some debris will wear off pretty quickly, but don't really effect the efficiency of the tool, so that's no big deal. The price for this attachment is incredible considering that it turns a WD vac into a very effective carpet cleaning tool. In truth, I often use this first to get a carpet as clean as I can, and then follow up with a regular household vac. This is because a vac with a beater bar (rotating brushes) can usually remove additional fine dirt from the carpet. In this way the WD vac is protecting the other vacuum from being destroyed by getting the worst of the hairs and other debris, enabling it to work without being damaged. For carpet cleaning a really thorough vacuuming prior to extraction makes a huge difference so this attachment really is a huge help to that end. For what this attachment cost, and the amount of work it does, it is a incredible value. This is added to by the fact that it will save you from ruining a really nice residential vacuum cleaner if you ever need to clean a really dirty rug. If you own a Wet Dry vac, you should own this attachment! March 11, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nozzle not the greatest I used this and loved the way t picked up. But.... After about a month... There is a plastic piece inside of it that is now blocking the auction so it doesn't work! I had to return it. July 14, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not pickup well Purchased what appeared to be a returned item as it did not have the store UPC sticker on it. I tried to use it on a very low pile indoor/outdoor carpet and it would only pick up very small grains of sand and dirt primarily in the very center of the attachment. Basically the suction channel is too small to do any sort of a vacuum job. Will return it today. June 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best $15 addition to a Wet/Dry vac I've seen... I clean carpets for an apartment complex and have to do move-outs and evictions (vacuum and shampoo the carpets). This tool works beyond my expectations and I have used it daily since 2011 with no breakage. It gets out the long hair and other crud that most people claim only a spinning brush bar can get, and raise the nap, manicuring the carpet as it cleans. I've used it on the occasional flooded carpet and it gets the water right out as well. The "lock down" that a traditional floor tool does on carpet is eliminated by this tool, and the increased air speed at the nozzle base really helps pick up debris. As you use this tool more and more you develop a feel for how to get it to agitate the fibers and how to maneuver it into tight areas and along baseboards to get at the hard to reach stuff. It takes some time to master, but it will impress you (though I admit at first you may think "no big deal"). I will definitely buy another one if mine should ever break, but again after heavy use it is still going strong. Get one! May 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for Light/Medium Duty Garage/Patio/Home Use This tool is a bit expensive but works okay with a 1 1/4" hose/wand for around the house and garage as long as you don't expect too much of it. It has a small half-moon shaped passage way in the bottom of the nozzle that can easily clog with leaves and anything similar. It works fine for smaller debris and does a good job on carpet. They could have made this tool a little larger though. It has two little brushes that pop out to aid in dust pick up on hard floors. I can feel it suck itself down on the floor and carpet, which can sometimes make it hard to push. Depends on the type of surface being vacuumed. This can also be used with a 2 1/2" hose. It doesn't compare to the big floor tools they have for that size hose, but it's designed for carpet as well as hard floors, not industrial use. January 6, 2015
