Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Design This saw has good power and features, the lifetime warranty is also very good. Unfortunately the saw does not function well. It will not hold a blade in the chuck, and the blades will continuously pop out of the saw under load. After spending more time fetching blades out of the kerf than actually cutting, I returned the saw and bought a Milwaukee. A much better design, and if you can live without the lifetime warranty, the price point was only $12 more for the Milwaukee. Do not buy this saw. July 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good Blade won't stay in when saw really starts to work. Reading other reviews on different sites it became apparent that a lot of other people were having these issues. Sounds like the issue is one of a design flaw rather than one of defect. Was very happy with Home Depot in allowing me to exchange the saw on a Milwaukee of which I am very pleased with. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Blade Falls Out I bought this saw this morning from Home Depot, and almost immediately the blade fell out while in use. I was cutting 3/32" steel that is used to form the walls of a swimming pool. There is lots of power but NO GOOD IF THE BLADE KEEPS FALLING OUT! I would NOT recommend this recipricating saw. Have decided to return to the store and purchase a Milwaukee recip. saw. September 22, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing power, tool-less blade change needs work I recently used this saw to carve up a demolished garage, and it performed admirably. When the blade stayed in, though. This saw has great cutting power, but I would have to agree with other posters that the blade tends to come loose too easily. Maybe that isn't the case with Ridgid blades, but I can't remember back when I first used the blade it shipped with, and have since replaced with other brand blades. July 12, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Real solid product I have had this saw for over a year and have never had any problems. It is powerful and and contrary to what some of the other reviews have said, I love the quick blade change. I have used all types of blades in it and have never run into a problem with the blades coming out or coming loose. Paid about $80 for it and I challenge anyone to find a better value. March 19, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Great Ridgid Product I have had this saw for over a week now, I bought it on sale and am really liking this saw. I put it to work this week on a job site and it made quick work of everything I threw at it. The blade release mechanism worked perfectly. I would recommend this saw without a doubt, this ones a keeper and a must on all jobs. And never forget the ridgid warranty. July 11, 2009
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Get a grip- on the blades Big dissapointment! The tooless chuck need work. This saw would not hold the blades. After just a few minutes of use the blade would fly out in some unknown direction. I thought I got a faulty unit so I exchanged it for a new unit, sadly with the same results. I spent a few dollars more and picked up a Milwaukee. Simply flawless performance. July 8, 2007
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by powerfull, fast, easy to change blade. we used it alot and it never let us down. but it did die one day because it got insalation in it and it burned it up. otherwise if you keep things from falling into it. it will last a long time. ridgid is a great tool. March 23, 2009
