When I bought this I was dubious. I have had several other jigsaws over the years; all with greater amperage . Some of these were cheap and some pricey. This Jig Saw cuts through heavy wood like butter. The very first day I carved up several butcher block counter tops without any hesitation. Since I have handled knotty pine and heavy plywood with never a hesitation.

Answer:
Yes. In fact, two blades are included - one for metal and the other for wood. I would suggest, however, purchasing new blades - possibly a set of Bosch or the like. The blades that come with the unit are easily bent and lack the "fine" cutting capability of nicer blades. You can get a pack of 4-6 for about $9.00. Be sure you get the "T-style" and NOT the "U".

Hi Marga7287, the ZRR3101 model is a reconditioned tool and only comes with a 1 year warranty.
The model R3101 is a brand new tool and if registered with RIDGID comes with a lifetime service agreement.

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 112 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Saw I wanted to love this saw, but ended up only liking it slightly better than my old one. The grip is large, and fits my hand well. I feel like I have more control and less fatigue, but the blade visibility is basically non-existent which blows any perceived benefits of this "compact" design out of the water. The non-marring base is a neat idea, but I haven't see replacement parts available yet. I hate the power switch design, wish it was thumb-operable and side-mounted like on a drill, instead of on the top of the saw. I would say if you are looking for a new saw, skip this one. If you have a reliable saw and are looking to add to your collection, purchase. October 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing purchas I purchased this because of a large project cutting 2x material. I was hoping for more precision and less fatigue than my old reliable black and decker and I liked the way this tool felt in my hand. Unfortunately, it cut 3 or 4 times slower through the thick material than my old saw (with the same blade) and the results weren't any better. I returned it and stuck with my $50 black and decker. Visibility of the blade is also poor. By all accounts the black and decker is a better saw. October 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works as expected. I am pretty hard on jig saws for smaller projects - this one seemed to hold up. Areas of improvement for this tool - It's heavier than I thought - The dust collection system is small - I was hoping for a 2" one to hook up to my shop vac. September 20, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Construction Doesn't cut as well as a regular sized jig saw works fine on thin material not good on thicker wood liked the idea of compact just not happy with performance September 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by There are better units I used this tool for the first time this morning. The non-marring base is not good. It does mar the surface. Also, the base is so soft I gouged it from the surface I was cutting (1/16" steel). The quick change blade is good. I don't like the adjustable base. It does not have positive notches to find the preset angles. Once I set the saw at 0°, the vibration of the saw caused the base to loosen and change the angle. That messed up my work piece. Nope; don't buy this one folks. I have a Bosch that serves me well. September 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fast and Fun I love this little guy. The redesigned grip feels good in the hand and feels more controllable. I do wish the blade was a bit more visible during operation but they give you a guide arrow which helps a bit. Overall it's a good tool to have in the arsenal. September 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not meant for a woman I purchased this product when it first came out because I am a huge fan of other Ridgid products. I find myself passing off my cutting projects to my husband because the grip is really wide and it is hard to hold. I would consider myself a woman with decent sized hands, but it's still too large to hold comfortably. I also have some small issues with the bottom plate. It has to be REALLY tight to keep it in place. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fuego 3 Amp Comoact Orbital Jig Saw I like the weight of the jig saw , with a lighter jig saw you have to add more pressure to keep it from bouncing around . With the Ridgid you just guide it along . August 2, 2016
