It did seem to cut slowly but then I made only one practice cut with it. I returned this saw and bought a Ryobi for $40.00 less that has a 6.1 A motor.

When I bought this I was dubious. I have had several other jigsaws over the years; all with greater amperage . Some of these were cheap and some pricey. This Jig Saw cuts through heavy wood like butter. The very first day I carved up several butcher block counter tops without any hesitation. Since I have handled knotty pine and heavy plywood with never a hesitation.

Answer:
Yes. In fact, two blades are included - one for metal and the other for wood. I would suggest, however, purchasing new blades - possibly a set of Bosch or the like. The blades that come with the unit are easily bent and lack the "fine" cutting capability of nicer blades. You can get a pack of 4-6 for about $9.00. Be sure you get the "T-style" and NOT the "U".

Hi Marga7287, the ZRR3101 model is a reconditioned tool and only comes with a 1 year warranty.
The model R3101 is a brand new tool and if registered with RIDGID comes with a lifetime service agreement.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 98 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cutting blindly The on/off switch is definitely a downer. It takes two hands to run the tool. The head is also to close to your work. So you can't see anything you are cutting. It seems like a good solid saw other than that. But I can't get over the not being able to see what you're doing thing. It's kind of important. May 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid saw The saw was very easy to use right out of the box. The lay down style takes a little getting used to, but not long. Works great so far and I don't expect that will change. Down side is having to remove the blade to put it back in the carry case, not the worse thing ever, just slightly annoying. May 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by don't buy this saw Junk no line of sight to what you are cutting and no variable speed avoid this saw May 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice compact jigsaw Over all this is a great jigsaw its very durable but...since its so compact it does have a few thing i dont like. The trigger is litterally just a ON and OFF switch. If you have any kind of kick back form the blade hold on tight because you cant get to the switch quick enough to turn it off. (variable speed trigger would have been nice) Since its so compact it makes it hard to see the blade. I find myself bending over just to try and see where im cutting because its hidden from the body of the jigsaw. I rarely adjust my base angle but i have noticed it hard to read the degree because the read out is under the handle makeing it hard to see. February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent performance Really impressed with this tool. Used it to trim paneling during a buildout and it went through it like butter and cleanly. April 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not Recommend this First, I would like to say that I am a Ridgid fan, most of the power tools that I own are ridged brand, love their stuff. This jig saw.... lets just be honest.... this jig saw is terrible compared to other jig saws available on the market. I see the response from Ridgid on the other comments. I think you guys need to just admit that this tool isn't as good as most of your products. I just hope that instead of "standing behind your product" you (Ridgid) will take the feedback as constructive criticism and redesign the jig saw. Remember the point of feedback is to identify weak areas and make improvements. April 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Impossible to be accurate Don't buy this jigsaw. I love Ridgid tools so I bought this out of respect for Ridgid without paying attention to the function of the product. It is impossible to see the bade follow a line. It is too concealed making it very awkward to stand over the top and view the blade. Of course when blade view is difficult, you get bad cuts. Must have been designed for construction use where accuracy isn't a priority. February 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very handy, well made, a best buy! The saw is easy to operate, the feel is very good, adjust ability it excellent, as is it's staying in position when set. I don't care for the position of the switch, it's not easy to operate for me. February 16, 2016
