Perfect tool for hanging drywall for a weekend warrior. Probably not for a commercial installer

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Justin Do not buy this gun if you are a professional
The company I work for does a lot of framing and drywall in commercial settings. I, and two of my coworkers purchased these guns 3 weeks ago, that is 3 guns total that we bought.
Gun number 1 - does not work right out of the package, and has yet to be used, the piston will not adjust so we cannot set the depth on the screws.
Gun Number 2 - constantly hangs and sets its adjustment randomly so that after you adjust it, after driving 2-3 screws it will not sink them deep enough, then you have to readjust and have to start all over again.
Gun Number 3 -My gun worked fine for three weeks at work, I brought it home today to hang some board in my basement and I cannot get it to adjust long enough to sink more than 3 screws.
These are the worst purchases I have ever made when it comes to drills, I will not be buying any more rigid tools hence forth.

This is my second Ridgid VSR Drywall screwgun I have purchased from Home Depot, hi quality, durable and very well priced. Ordered online with ease, shipped to my home in excellent condition. I am a DYI'er and help other DIY'er on their projects, it has performed flawlessly.

I bought it because we needed to do some drywall. I already have a Senco battery operated gun but I did not want to buy replacement batteries because of the cost. I thought this looks like what the pros use but at a reasonable price. I also stopped buying cordless because of the battery issue and there always seems to be power nearby.
the biggest problem I have had was screws sticking in the bits and pulling the magnetic extension shaft out and dropping to the floor. I have always liked Rigid products but they have always been plumbing tools. Maybe I will find a way to keep this from happening again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kaponolani Decent tool...horrible service
Bought this and 18v cordless impact...as an owner of a framing and drywall company I used these tools daily. Liked them at first but the clutch burned out in the screw gun and the impact crapped out. Since then it's been a fight to get Ridgid to honor the warranty and I'm still going rounds...my advice, HITACHI, MAKITA, even DEWALT...much better in the long run...will update if fixed

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nancyshandyman55 very nice product
Had a yellow and black model 257. It performed well but someone liked it and needed it more than I did - stolen! Since I am a Ridgid guy and bleed orange and black, I gave this a shot. Powerful, well balanced and easy to use. Did run into some of the same issues as several of the previous reviewers did, but was smarter and just replaced the bit with a new hardened one - viola! Instant awesome tool! Never underestimate a tool until you investigate the bit or blade is my motto from now on. And even some of the other brands out there have gone to bags instead of cases. Besides, I've never seen a drywall gun offered with either.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Diy12345678910 Nice tool for the DIY person
The setting took a little bit of time to get the depth I wanted. Once the setting was set the tool ran flawlessly. With three different people running it there was no difference in the result even though the was a difference in experience between the three of us. I looked at dewalt before purchasing the ridged and almost purchased its heavy duty decking/drywall gun but was too hung up on the price for the amount of use it would get, which right now is a basement finish, deck install, and fence install. With the year warranty I really couldn't pass it up. It has turned out to be a time saver and a very good tool.
