Customer Questions & Answers

How turn it on

Asked by: Franky
I think I know where your having an issue, people say just pull the trigger well there's a little more, obviously you need a battery in and u need it in forward or reverse (by the way the manual states to put it in forward when using cutting blades with the multi-tool head) now here's where u might be having an issue, there is a trigger lockout, there is a small pin where the heads attach and when u put the heads on it they depress than pin in which releases the trigger lockout. So the short answer you have to have a head attached to it to release the trigger lockout and turn it on. Hope that helps!

Is this compatible with the rotary Job Max head?

I need a powerful cordless rotary tool. Will these two work together?
Asked by: goelvis
Yes I have the Rotary cutting head for mine and it works great, can't be beat for only $30! Do yourself a favor and on the rotary cutting head take some electrical tape and tape the engagement switch on it in the on position so u don't have to mess with it every time u start the tool! Plus don't forget to only run it in forwards and u can see the spindle lock button to change bits well pull the shoe completely out and the wrench for the spindle nut is on the end of the shoe it's pretty cool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Plumber's tool I'm very pleased with this tool. I have the reciprocating saw head, the auto hammer, and oscillating head tool for it. The auto hammer attachment is great for securing PEX pipe with J-hooks. It's about as fast as a hammer but much easier in tight crawls. It's very loud though, and will bend nails with gusto until you get the hang of it. It struggles with larger nails though, but I rarely use nails over screws so it's a non-issue for my application. The reciprocating saw cuts up to 3" PVC quickly, but I prefer to switch to my big saw on larger pipe. It'll still cut them, it just takes longer. The small size is really useful cutting down your stubbed pipe inside lavatory cabinets, as well as demoing old piping in crawls. It can also cut cast iron or galvanized pipe with the right blades, but again a dedicated saw is the better tool for that application unless you have an abundance of time to kill. The oscillating cutter gets used more so when I'm doing carpentry work. It plunge cuts pretty well with the included blade, and the sander head is also good. Not as good as an orbital sander but still pretty good. I do use the drywall cutting blade pretty often doing plumbing, and it's great for cutting out walls when you aren't sure what's back there. It'll only cut so deep, so you shouldn't hit anything you shouldn't using it. Battery life is in line with my other tools, even with this being an X4 gen tool compared to my X5 tools. It takes a LOT of use with this tool to drain my 4 amp hour batteries. Now that I've gotten used to having it in my kit I couldn't imagine not having it. If Rigid releases an X5 version I will pick it up for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rigid tools have been the best investment I have made in years I was exposed to Rigid battery tools about three years ago. My brother and I were building his retirement cabin off grid in Montana. I started with the drill impact combo as I thought they would be handy for a few jobs when we didn't feel like starting a generator. They were so reliable and solid they replaced our 110 volt tools for most work. After working them nonstop on this project I find that I have purchased the jobmax console most of its attachments a 1/2 inch hammer drill, finish nailed, a 1\2 impact wrench and circular saw and probably a couple others that I have forgotten to mention. I started out a serious skeptic as my past experiences with battery tools was disappointing at best. These tools have changed my mind on the value of the battery powered tools to the point that I rarely bother with 110volt hand tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Handy tool. Glad to have it in my shop Love this Multi-tool. Using it for some Christmas present wood working projects. I have really used the detail sander head. It's so convenient with the battery power. It has plenty of power for every job I've tackled with . There are so many jobs that I can use this on. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jobmax made portable, yea Jobmax tools are powerful and versatile, the prior 12 volt battery was OK, but being able to use the 18volt system is an instant upgrade.
