Rated 5 out of 5Â by Andre exellent product all around
I was gonna by the dremel version then my buddie loaned me his 12v job max and I was in love, plus it has the versatility to be a nailer, wrench, saw, drill. Who wants 10 tools when you can buy one and get attachments, imagine if you had to buy a different drill everytime you wanted a new attachment. Well done

I bought this tool on advice of a Home Depot associate to help me cut out a rotted section of my back door frame. I shared with him that I was frustrated because I didn't know what I was doing and I had already created significant collateral damage to my door frame. I thought I needed a Dremel tool but he suggested that I consider the JobMax multi-tool. OMG! what a game changer. My second door only took about an hour! One tool with multiple heads... Awesome! I bought the hammer head and it is super easy to use. I'm going back for ALL of the additional heads! One thing though... I got a nasty avulsion pinch on my left thumb trying to remove an attached head tool so be careful there. I registered the products and I hope to get years of use from these tools. I highly recommend JobMax!

This is more of a review of the oscillating head attachment , but I bought the tool with this attachment so the review is going here.
I debated buying a multi-tool for awhile as I wasn't really sure I needed one but when a new project required cutting out some very small tiles for a repair job I decided to buy one. Even though I'm not a big fan of Ridgid, the reviews were largely good, the price was right and the warranty sounded great. I decided on the corded model and a grout removal attachment. It made very short work of the grout around the tiles - a promising start. The overall design is a bit bulky, and I find the tool head removal is awkward and attaching accessories to the oscillating head attachment isn't any better. I'm not sure other brands are any better.
I started finding other uses for the tool and that's where the problems started. It was great for cut-outs in drywall, or cutting some notches in pine or mdf moulding but when it came to cutting out a small strip in a 5/8" plywood wood subfloor (it was too tight to the wall for a jigsaw) it was painfully slow and the attachment would bind quite often (making a horrible grinding noice). Trying to figure out just the right amount of pressure was tricky (needs a very light touch) but finally got through that project and a few others. The oscillating head became ineffective after less than 30 minutes of total use (the unit itself was fine). It would act normally but as soon as you touched any material it would stop moving and just grind. Luckily I registered for the LSA, and didn't live too far from the nearest service centre. It took them 3 weeks to replace a bearing and something else but at least it was free. Anyway I've got it back but I think I'll be keeping this for very light duties. I also bought the right angle drill head and it works okay - a bit underpowered but if you're just drilling through new spruce it's fine. Doubtful I will ever buy any of the other accessories.
