I am a believer and owner of numerous Ridgid tools over the years as a contractor. I do love the versatility of the Jobmax tool suite; however the "Auto Hammer Head" is useless with the 18V power base attached. It would not drive a 16d nail in a spruce 2x4. If you plan to use it, attach the 120V or the air powered base.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DirtyDeeds Used with the 18v power base. Works good.
I've seen videos of this tool with the 12v base and was not impressed at all. In fact I thought I would never own one but I found one in the clearance section for dirt cheap so picked it up.
Using this tool with my 18v JobMax works pretty good. I can easily drive a 3inch spiral nail no problem. I also use two hands and support the back of the tool above the nail as it's driving in (similar to the Milwaukee designed auto-hammer)
I've noticed some reviewers are trying to use this tool in place of a hammer altogether but they seem to overlook the main purpose of this tool which is for driving nails in hard to reach places where you can't swing a hammer. Between joist, under counters etc.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DallasMan Jobmax Auto Hammer Head - used on pneumatic base
Let me start off and say I'm a big fan of the Jobmax Series. The tools are first rate and well built. I love the interchangeability of the heads on the various power bases, so I can use them as either an air tool or as a battery powered tool. The heads seem to work equally as well powered by the base unit (sold separately) whether it be air, 12V or 18V power. I was enticed into my purchase to help complete my collection of Jobmax Tool Heads and power bases by the $25 price this head was being offered at (about 1/2 the price of the other available heads). Anyway, this head would work well for a weekend warrior with an occasional nail to pound. The downside is that it is rather awkward to use for any period of time. A regular Palm Nailer in a similar price range would probably be a better choice if you have a lot of nails to hammer in tight spots.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by dj90423 Works, but...
Have used this at work, and it does a decent job of driving Tico nails while attaching "strong tie" brackets. However, it is not as fast as a palm nailer attached to an air compressor, and for my job, speed matters. Still, I like the Jobmax and I would recommend this tool, but maybe not this particular attachment if speed is an important factor to you, because it simply isn't as fast as a palm nailer.
