Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mesa3 I love this attachment
This attachment is great and gets used all the time. Cuts cleanly and with ease. I have the newer version (all gray) without the spring loaded safety switch so I haven't had that issue as mentioned earlier. I have big hands so have ease using it with one hand.
I haven't had any issues with the blade locking tab as mentioned earlier.
The only draw back would be you can't angle the blade. This hasn't mattered to me but maybe important to someone else to think about.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Steph Great attachment! Annoying safety lock, but it can be easily defeated!
This is a great attachment with one drawback. The safety lock is spring loaded and difficult to engage to begin cutting. I came up with a simple solution: I drilled a tiny hole through the plastic slider lock and ran some thin wire through it. I pulled it tight so the lock was engaged to the side and secured the wire to the plastic of the vent slot. Works like a charm! I was very frustrated at first, but now it's great! We've been using this tool for our bathroom remodel and it's been fantastic. Even my husband is impressed with it! I took off one star for the difficult safety lock. . .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JonAbbott It Saws Through Wood, What Else Would It Do?
There's nothing really astounding to say about the jigsaw attachment, it does what it's meant to do just like any other jigsaw. I will say that it takes some getting used to with the way it handles. It's a little differently snapped than a typical jigsaw so it feel sort of bulky. Once you're used to it though there isn't much to complain about. Would I recomend it? Yes, but only if you either already have or are wanting to get into the JobMax tool lineup. For me I already had the base for the JobMax series so it was a no brainer, glad I bought it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cobannero Excellent tool...BUT
Love the attachment, does what it needs to do and does it well. HOWEVER!!!....... The Bi-Directional Lock Out Lever is such a pain!!. The idea is rediculous and not user friendly. Can't think of any other tool that requires two hands to start it up.
Even Ridgid's circular saw (I own one), doesn't have a secondary button to start the tool.
I jammed the lever with a small piece of wood. Everytime I use it I shake my head at how the geniouse that came up with this must feel when reading about this idea.
Love the whole JobMax line up, such a shame it comes with such foolish design.
I guess I would recommend this tool, in the same sentence with a joke/warning of the two hand operation required.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Danangdoc Very good, not great
I have many Ridgid tools which are top level in terms of durability and function. The JobMax is a small step below this level. The balance, power, versatility and function of the jig saw head is quite good but not great. Mine is new (≈9/2015) and I have not noted the the safety switch issue that others have; it is on or off and stays in that position. Mine is the corded unit and it does not seem to lack power for an appropriate jig saw purpose. Where this tool really shines is having several good power tools in one small, light tool bag. The cat's meow when traveling in a small truck camper.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by blrow3 Great addition to the JobMax family!
Unit is very lightweight, but seems like it is well constructed. Fit well on the JobMax and handles itself like a well fitted jigsaw.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Christobul Love this jig saw.
I bought this to help with some of the angle cuts when laying laminate flooring in my dining room. I debated whether I should get a regular compact jig saw or this head for my JobMax base but ended up going with this head. I'm glad I did. Not only did it save me money but it worked flawlessly and efficiently. So much so that I quit using my noisey miter saw to cut the boards to length because its blade was becoming dull and just used this jig saw for the rest of the job. I even ripped the last row of boards with it. And I did the whole job using the same single blade that came with it without any problems. And I'm not having the problems that some people are complaining about with having to use two hands to turn it on. I don't even know what they're talking about. It must be a design flaw that they changed in the newer models because mine turns on with one finger at the trigger. But it does have a safety lockout feature for when its not in use, which is nice. I love this little tool. It's a great addition to my Ridgid collection.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by erichtg Not well suited for battery powered jobmax handle.
The jigsaw consumes so much power that it basically runs the battery down ~three times faster than I can charge a 18v battery. Batteries are <12 old with light use. Nifty concept and all but I returned it and bought a dedicated (corded) jigsaw (for only ~$10 more than this attachment.) It did seem to work fine otherwise., It is Just not well matched with a cordless device. Ridgid really should somehow recommend this attachment be use with the corded handle only or risk more dissatisfied customers.
