I got this product just over a year ago and used it 4 or 5 times to do some very delicate molding fitment. Then I needed to trim some artificial brick vernier and all of a sudden it stopped working, I looked at the unit and the blade was not moving but the motor was turning. so now I have to try and get some warranty I hope.

This tool can get in the tightest of areas. This attachment with its various cutting blade attachments has been used by me in outdoor building of a shed, tile timing and cutting for new flooring. This attachment is very durable and versitile great for pro’s and do it your selfers alike!

Impulse buy, and I asked the sales associate 'if it fails to work like the video, can it come back?"
"Certainly" he said.
Fantastic, I expected to go home, plug it in, and have it back within 2 hours.
Boy was I wrong, this has solved 25 'little' problems that are a pain with a rotary tool, and where the reciprocating saws would have made a total mess of the job. Saved me hours in the first week alone, totally worth the money.
Now to find more blades...

Started buying Ridgid power tools 10 years ago and never went back to Craftsman again. The craftsmanship is superior and you can't beat a the warranty. I now have a 12" Chop Saw, 18v Drill/Driver that I've had for 10 and 9 years respectively and haven't had the first bit of trouble, while my next-door neighbor who bought a DeWalt drill a year after I got my drill has had to buy another because the drill head gears went bad on his.
Hands down, these are the best tools you can get for your money and they LAST! Haven't had my JOBMAX Multi-Tool that long but it has been doing great since I got it. Good weight so you don't get your hands vibrated to death while using it, and the ability to use multi-vendor attachments will be a plus down the road in case I need to barrow one from a friend to do a one time job with it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Troy No regrets, best so far for me. Works with nearly every brands blades!
I have the entire set of the original five heads available currently.
all of them are much better performers than I expected.
This particular head is far more usable then the other units out there for the ability to position the head in 4 different positions which I have found a great advantage several times already. I have a corded unit from HFT and this cordless one lacks very little against it on performance, and is way way quieter on top of that. I also have a Nextec unit that uses similar batteries, this Ridgid unit has much more power and better control. The Ridgid unit will get the job done where the Nextec unit is entirely ineffective, and it wont break the retaining latches on the batteries like the Nextec does when it binds up. Despite much better performance the batteries last every bit as long if not longer. The last reviewer mentioned not finding replacement blades, True the originals arent readily available, but HD carries 3 other quality brand blades that fit it perfectly, if you dont mind enlarging a couple holes with a drill, even the very cheap but decent quality blades at BigLots work awesome on this Ridgid Multi-tool head with the included Bosch adapter plate.(definitely should use a vise to hold the blades when drilling so your hand wont get cut up if the drill binds in the hole of the blade) As long as you register and send in the box barcode in 3 months, even the batteries are covered for lifetime Replacement, That alone makes the choice clear for anyone looking to enjoy their tools long into the future. They will wiggle out of the warranty if you dont register it exactly right though. Definitely among my favorite tools. And once you have it 4 other tools are there for only $49, instead of $150 +++ for a comparable competitors unit! I would like to see a more powerful handle that uses the 18v batteries. Angle grinder and Trim router heads would be nice too!

I have used my RIDGID Jobmax 12v several times. This particular multi tool head is capable of cutting alot of materials, especially wood. There is a blade that comes with it that says it will cut thin metal and wood. Trust me the metal it should refer to is copper, if you cut anything else it will be as dull as a butter knife before you know it. Another reviewer said he could not find any blades that fit it. It is true that it is almost impossible to get the RIDGID brand blades seperately. However there are better blades out there. In the description of this item it says it includes an adpater to fit the most common oscillating blades on the market. This adapter is crucial!!! It looks like a thick washer about the size and thickness of a nickel with a hole in the middle for the screw. The adapter has 4 pins on either side and a D on one side and a F on the other side. This is referring to Dremel blades and Fien blades. Yes you can use either blades making this tool an absolute must have.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by AcPaz Can't purchase replacement head.
Great tool but the gears stripped out within a year of light use. Now I can't purchase the replacement attachment as it is not sold in stores and has been "out of stock" on line for the past several months. I would encourage spending a little more and get the Fein Mulitmaster.
